Exnavyew's Account Talk

With the Greek 'OXI' vote the EFA is down but the US market not so much.
(Thought it might drop more)
A good sign? Wait and see mode? Yellen speaking this week?
Wonder when what's going on in China is gonna start making the mainstream media here.

'Acropolis Now'

“China is perhaps one of the most important question marks in the economic world today, and so it can’t help but matter to your investments,” he said. “The mainstream media is focused on Greece, but the reality is that Greece is a sideshow compared to China.”

Was tempted to jump in today (F Fund) but am still holding. Greece and EU talks: Hmmm... sounds interesting. If Greece wants more loans, I'm thinking it will be painful and costly. Also waiting to see what transpires with China over the next 24-48 hours. If they have a massive downward slide I don't want the I Fund even if the dollar has slid a bit. The waters are still a bit too choppy for me to launch the boat. Best to all in your investing.

Can't wait to look at Ocean's AutoTracker Summary data tomorrow morning to see what my fellow TSPers did today.:D

I may very well be wrong (REALLY not sure) but I don't think China is in the I-fund (of course China could 'affect' the I-fund).

Feeling lucky? Currently 2-year Greek Bonds are paying 49.54%!!??

Robert Shiller's shocking call: Buy Greek stocks!

Uh oh...this can't be good...if you're invested in China.
(Keep wondering when 'China' situation will start getting mainstream media
coverage in the 'west'.)
Gotta be a good conspiracy theory out there somewhere! :D

Yes..China is diving, and it might get really bad Tuesday. HopeUS is not affected. China is not part of I fund, but Hong Kong is. Im not in the I fund. I doubt European Union and those holding Greek debt will giveout more money.... July20 is when Greece is due to make payment to European creditors.. I think it is doubtful. Will se what happens in Brussels tomorrow. I see some folks jumping into I fund, but I think it is still too early. If Europeans do not loan more to Greece, I tend to think that would be better for Europe...just cant see how they can continue to throw more money that way. Bloomberg reprted 63B owed to Germany, 46B to France, 43B to Italy, and 12B to IMF? ...in any case, their point isthat Italy is in worse position to take that loss. European bonds would be hit hard, and many US mutual funds invested in European bonds!! Ouch!!

Well, maybe a bit simplistic, but if China/Europe 'look bad' that might help US market if it's perceived as a better place to invest. As far as Greece goes I think they will come to SOME kind of agreement even if it's a temporary 'kick the can down the road' kinda thing. And that could help the I-funders. US market didn't really go crazy over the Greek 'NO' vote which is good IMHO. 'Feels' like it's in a wait and see mode, possibly cuz Yellen is speaking this week as well, that could also be a factor.
Ain't the stock market fun!!! :D

China is a 'triple bubble'? Whoo-boy.

“Most of the market reaction is due to overseas headlines and because markets are not always rational, some headlines have greater impact than others, even though logically they should not,” Cieszynski said.
“For example, the impact of China’s stock market crash is probably bigger on the U.S. than Greece, but Wednesday’s selloff was not particularly big. And because the selloff was not big, we are not seeing a bigger bounce,” he said.
“In our view, China is in the midst of a triple bubble, with the third biggest credit bubble of all time, the largest investment bubble (proxied by the investment share of GDP) and the second biggest real estate bubble,” wrote Jeffrey D. Saut, chief investment strategist at Raymond James."

It may have been Cramer who said the Chinese Strategy might work.

With their new BUY OR DIE strategy he might be right because they certainly have enough buyers to maybe make it work for a while.

Hopefully by then we will outnumber them.

I do feel bad for the individual high school educated Chinese people that are being led by the nose and loosing their savings.

IMHO, The Chinese are implementing BAD MARKET POLICY. Pay me now or pay me later but someone is going to pay for screwing with the natural order.....It's going to be an interesting 6 months.
