Officials said they admitted a patient who has symptoms raising concerns about Ebola.
The symptoms mixed with the patient’s recent travels to Africa concerned doctors.
Dr. Andrew Pavia with Primary Children’s said the probability of the patient having Ebola is extremely low however the patient has been isolated.
The Utah Department of Health said it does not believe this is a realistic case of Ebola in Utah so it is not investigating who could have had contact with the patients at this time.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention are running tests to confirm the Utah patient does not have the virus.
Doctors with the hospital said rumors were circulating and they wanted to make sure Utah residents had the facts and were informed.
