Ebbnflow's Day-to-Day Chart / MAY'07

That's right, the ebbchart's gain is up +15.63% at this point (Jan. 16 start). The cross-checking rules below was the original simple rules I had in mind. I added an option as stated below, but the jumps to the S-fund took a percent off the gains. I'm done meddling with the system and I'm standing pat with it!

Lobo, I tallied all the ebbcharts from January 16 thru May 25 and it reached as high as +16.02% in gains, but now sits at +14.47%. If you tally it yourself using TSPTalk's spreadsheet, you can just go by the simple rules of cross-checking:

a) Two or more stop signs = safe haven (G/F-fund).
b) Two or more dollar signs = stocks (I-fund).

With two or more green signs, I used to have an option to jump to the S-fund whenever the market was red before noon, but I eliminated that thinking due to the fact that I don't want to be sitting around until noon to make my decisions. As you know, I already predict my moves four days in advance, and basing my decisions on what the market is showing before noon relies too much on emotion. It doesn't mesh with the mechanical bull kind of thinking I'm fostering with the ebbtracker. So, you'll see on past ebbcharts jumps to the S-fund (5 occurences) which should be changed to the I-fund.

This month (May) sure has been tough for the ebbtracker. But to put things in perspective, the maximum drawdown I had from last year (May 09, 2006 to June 13, 2006) was at -6.96%. Interestingly enough, I turned out good gains for both month. Not to mention, the whole year!

You think that's scary? Last year, if you left your money on the I-fund, there was a point where you would have lost -15.37% between May and June. Same thing with the S-fund (-11.88%) and the C-fund (-7.46%).

This year, the maximum drawdown the ebbchart had so far (from Jan. 16 - May 25) was at -1.68%. Just to prevent some confusion, my ebbnflow account won't reflect the ebbchart's gains for the year because I haven't followed it correctly since its inception (Jan. 16, 2007). :)

Ebb:

Perhaps I have missed it from elsewhere, but what factors does your model primarily look at?

Thanks
Scott

Ebb:

Congrats on your new Web page! It's well deserved! Thanks for sharing all your hard work :)

Ebbnflow,

Congratulations on your outstanding work! I can't add any more words of praise, other than Tom's recognition of your accomplishments. Keep up the fine work. Thank you! :):):):)

Ebb... Congrats on the Ebbtracker getting it's own page. You deserve it for all your hard work and great track record. Many thanks from me and everyone else (I'm sure) who use the Ebbtracker to make their IFT's.
I see the spin charts for today, tomorrow and Wed, but are you still going to be posting the Ebbchart listing the month to date as before???

Thanks, guys! USNAVYRETIRED, the ebbchart has a web page of its own now. It's located here:

To get there, just click the link on my signature. :)

For the I-fund it's the price and dollar I track. Same thing goes for the F, C and S-fund except the dollar doesn't get factored into those. :)

Ebb... Yes, I see the new page, but like I tried to say, I can see the spin charts for today, Tue & Wed, but the Ebbchart for June doesn't appear. Is it on the same page? If so, I can't see it. Anyone else having this problem? Maybe it's the network (NMCI) with all the firewalls, etc. that's preventing it. However, I can still see the May Ebbchart in "Ebbnflow's Day-to-Day Chart / MAY'07".

USNAVYRETIRED, EbbnFlow,
FYI
The June ebbchart and the spin chart show up fine for me (at home).

USNAVYRETIRED, I think I see the problem now. I clicked on the properties of the EbbChart for June and it's showing that it comes from photobucket. Before, fabijo's server was hosting the ebbcharts and it wasn't getting blocked by the workplace. You must be accessing TSPTalk.com from work. No, that can't be, you're already retired!

I don't know, maybe Tom can figure out how to get around it. :)

I AM accessing it from work as I'm civil service now.... Must be the network that's a 4 letter word, and since we aren't supposed to use profanity here, I guess I'm not supposed to say NMCI!!! :worried: I"ll check it on my home PC this afternoon. Thanks.....

Guys,

I hope this helps. The Defense Department is blocking some sites on government computers. Photobucket is one of them.

Military puts MySpace, other sites off limits
The sites covered by the ban are the video-sharing sites YouTube, Metacafe, IFilm, StupidVideos and FileCabi; social networking sites MySpace, BlackPlanet and Hi5; music sites Pandora, MTV, 1.fm and live365, and the photo-sharing site Photobucket.

Hi Oreo!

TSPTalk doesn't want to block anyone! We just encourage consideration! Some of us us are on dial-up! [Bad] But it's the best we have! Large "Pics" throw us off! Therefore anything over 50K may get a moderator response.
Sometimes I have hi-speed, but sometimes I have dial-up! Anything I can do I try and reduce to less than 50K.

The internet is not perfect!...Thanks, and be careful....Rgds....Spaf

I made a change so the image is on our server. Can you see it now USNAVYRETIRED? ... www.tsptalk.com/ebbchart.html

TSPTALK... I will have to let you know tomorrow if I can see it from my NMCI seat. I've got an appointment at the VA today so I won't be at work. Thanks in advance for moving the image to your server.
I'm sure I'm not the only one who couldn't see it from the NMCI (Not Much Communication Included) network.
Have a great day and good luck to everyone with their TSP investments..... :)
