+.114% today on the I-fund would put the ebbtracker over +3.00% for the month and it's just the first week. Woohoo! This bounce has legs alright.
AMAZING

I have been crosschecking with other sites that offer daily triggers.
NO1 Even Comes Close. :toung:

Thanks, NyteTracker. I think the cross-checking function added to the ebbtracker last January 16 has taken it to another level.

Sponsor, I read somewhere that you were looking for funds that mirror our TSP funds. Check this out: www.direxionfunds.com

DXSLX = S&P 500 Bull 2.5x Fund
DXSSX = S&P 500 Bear 2.5x Fund

DXRLX = Small Cap Bull 2.5x Fund
DXRSX = Small Cap Bear 2.5x Fund

DXDLX = Developed Markets Bull 2x Fund (International)
DXDSX = Developed Markets Bear 2x Fund (International)

Are these for real? These funds pay 2 to 2.5x more than our funds and we can even short it (DXSSX, DXRSX or DXDSX)! I just Yahooed these funds and I got a chart just like our own TSP funds. Great news if it's true. I wonder how much they charge for every buy or sell (commission)? :)

Ebb,
Yes I am:) . I am glad that Spaf was quick to respond with information on funds he uses at Scottrade. But if you can pursue other alternatives that we can take advantage of, this will also benefit those at TSPtalk who are looking for viable and trustworthy alternatives for their private IRA.s It's good info. Since you already have a search lead, please try to do a further search to clarify the other questions you formulated. Thank you.

I was looking at the direxionfunds website. They name several discount brokers, incuding Scottrade and Fidelity, but I have no more information. Maybe the trading fees and restrictions will be governed by the particular policy of the broker.

Has anyone else found out how much the different brokerages charge for every buy or sell (commissions), or transaction fees?

Don't forget the pre tax 5% matching the Gummint gives us... A big factor when deciding what to do with your hard earned money.:worried:

Sponsor,
I like Scottrade. One of my trades from 3-8-2007. The cost was 7.14 and the Fund was Proshares. ProShares you buy at market price at time you purchase them. ProFunds is the closing price that day. Mutual funds have different rules from stocks. Good trading if you get in the game. Plenty of traders use
Rydex Funds. You can open an IRA account with Profunds or Rydex if you want and no charges for moves. Just a flat cost for having an account with them. You can move as often has you like just like TSP, but the overall cost are much higher. You can make a heck of a lot more money or lose a heck of a lot more.

I might open up an account with Profunds, but still have not decided.

Take Care!

Robo

Don't forget the management fees of these funds.
From the prospectus:
http://www.direxionfunds.com/pdfs/Investor_Class_12.29.pdf

Total Market Bull 2.5X Fund Investor Class/ Service Class
Management Fees 0.75% / 0.75%
Distribution and/or Service (12b-1) Fees 0.25% / 0.75%
Other Expenses(3) 0.56% / 0.56%
Total Annual Operating Expenses 1.56% / 2.06%

Total Market Bear 2.5X Fund
Management Fees 0.75% / 0.75%
Distribution and/or Service (12b-1) Fees 0.25% / 0.75%
Other Expenses(3) 0.68% / 0.68%
Total Annual Operating Expenses 1.68% / 2.18%

Put your commisions and trading fees on top of that.

It is an interesting concept, but I'd have to look closely to see if it was worth the fees for the risk/reward ratio's invovled.

The best way to save for retirement.

First due the matching at TSP.

Second max the Roths.

Third max the rest of 401k's.

My wife and I put away 50K last year. Another 50K this year and next year the roth's go up to 6K each for us old folks. ( 52K total ) Max the roth if you can it's a sweet deal.

If the top timer at TSPTALK had a 20% return using the S and C Funds and a 38% return in the same indexes at ProFunds the gains are for more then the cost. However, the loses can also be much higher. Many traders use these funds as hedges. The Shark talks about them on occasion. ( USED AS HEDGES - QID, SDS, DXD, MZZ OR A BET THE MARKET IS HEADED LOWER )

I do not recommend to the average investor to trade retirement money, Vanguard is the way to go. I trade only around 10% of my total portfolio in these accounts and trade just like I do my TSP account conservatively.

Ebb,
I sent you a link that has a good track record in the S Fund.
I just found it this weekend or I would have PM’d you sooner.
They issued a Strong Buy on Friday. Hope this helps with your chart/system.

Ebb, I'm sure you've been asked this before but on your safe days like tomorrow March 13 do you follow the F fund at all or just automatically flip to cash??

James, Robo, thanks for the good info. I think one needs a lot of capital (at least $20K) playing these funds from ProShares, Rydex or Direxion to make it worthwhile and profitable. :)

White, last year I used the F-fund as my default for safe haven. I just started tracking the F-fund with the ebbtracker last month. I'll be on the F-fund only if I get a green signal. :)

Sponsor,
A trader that uses Rydex. You can follow him daily at the link below.

FibTimer also uses Rydex, as many others do.

Comments: March 12, 2007

Current position: long: 100% Rydex Dynamic OTC for Tuesday. Often Tuesday's direction reverses Monday's, however we have a solid "long" signal with very strong probabilities and have moved 100% long. I believe we may see a spurt higher that could continue over the next few days. Our closing targets for Tuesday in the S&P are 1402 and 1414; for the Nasdaq 100 we have 1746 and 1786. Because trading the Rydex Dynamic funds involves no commissions or slippage they are an excellent vehicle for daily trading. Since Rydex also has Dynamic funds that go inverse to the market, the investor can invest in up or down markets. And due to the Dynamic funds' built in leverage investors can adjust their trading to match their perception of the markets strength, without paying the high cost of borrowing money. Our program utilizes these funds to best advantage.

Thanks for the quick reply. Good call for today also. I'm definitely going to keep you on the daily radar screen.
