What I don't understand is why he got 22" dub spinner rims(he's very proud of them)??

The system was certainly not in the "G" fund. Things that make you go "Hmmmmmmmm"Can anybody reveal what the Ebbenezer system was in today?..It is after the fact ya know.

Hello chewy, welcome to the message board, how about Darth Vader is he doing OK? DennisFAA and Chewy, You know it's very hard and most believe impossible to predict what the Market will do every day. If someone can hit over 50% it's a miracle. Biggest computers in the world are working on that one every day and still cant predict the market with any regularity. So Mr. Ebbenflow is doing exceptionally well. I really don't discuss his recommended allocations, post your question in the Ask Tom forum.

Looks like I picked the wrong day to stop sniffing glue!
I know, I know...don't panic! I'll get back the $3,000.00 I lost today and then some. It's just a hard pill to swallow! I am going to trust in the Ebbtracker to lead me to the promised land, recognizing that there will be a few speed bumps along the way!!! :worried:
I've been lurking for a few months and finally decided to pay for the premium service after I realized how much I liked seeing the Ebbtracker's recommendations. I pretty much had my money split 60/40 between the L2030 and the I fund until last week, when I went all in to the G fund. I thought this dip was going to happen sooner than it did. I was frustrated about not knowing where Ebb was and I kept seeing some of the other funds going up. I figured Ebb knew which fund to be in, so I ponied up and jumped in with both feet. Too bad today was the day that the first step would be a doozy(sp?)! I hope to catch a big updraft next week!:cheesy:TRUEHONEST

I gave the ebbcharts a quick look and found this:
June 5 (-.27%), 7 (-2.16%), 11 (-.12%), 12 (-.62%)
Total loss (-3.17%)
Ebbchart month's total (-.89%)
I-fund month's total (+.20%)
July 20 (-.39%), 24 (-1.66%), 25 (-.48%), 26 (-2.06%), 27 (-2.35%)
Total loss (-6.94)
Ebbchart month's total (-.90%)
I-fund month's total (-2.39%)
The above losses were consecutive losses with no gains in between! Even with those huge losses, the ebbchart's monthly losses were not that bad. And we all know how it did in August (+8.57%) and September (+3.99%).

Ebb, your avatar is a bull so it would seem as your system is geared to a bull (an upward moving) market. Does your system have any checks in it to detect - recognize a downward trend ?
Thereby preserving your gains and not haveing to cover the same path again.

sorry truehonest..i can only gove that 1st tsp.gov link a 3 stars as it only allows computation of the L income fund only...will not do the L2010 thru L2040..not useful to those in those funds...downgrading this calculator to a "3".Mr recognizer

Well, everyone has a way of doing things. Here's the strategy I've decided to take, using Ebb's tracker as a base....for what it's worh.
I'm trying to not get to "greedy"....difficult to do. I started in September and decided to follow Ebb till I got 2% each month, and then get out into the G-Fund. In September I ended up with 3% before I was able to get out, with the TSP deadline. (Sometimes the deadline is good to us....heh heh) I got out in October with 2.2%, and will gain a little more (maybe up to 2.4%) while sitting the rest of the month in the G-Fund.
I figure if I make between 24% and 36% a year, I should be very, very happy, and even then, I feel a little "greedy". Ha!
If you look at Ebb's charts since Jan '07, it would work for all but about 2 months, I think. Even those months were <1% loss if you followed him till the end of the month. I figure, the occasional amount greater than the 2% I'm shooting for will help to balance this out to at least 24% a year?
By not being "greedy", as I think of it for me personally, it has sure paid off so far this month. As of today, for October, I'm sitting above 2% as opposed to a little over 1.5% in the hole. Whew! I almost told myself...."Maybe it's not too "greedy" to shoot for the ~3% you ended up with in Sept.".
Oh well, just thought I'd share the idea in case any others are interested. There may be some problems with my reasoning. I'm open to all input. So far, so good. We'll see how it goes down the road.
I retire in July 2008, and still want to handle my own money in the TSP.
This brings up a quick question. Is it possible for me to draw a monthly amount out of the TSP during my retirement and continue to "manage" the remaining amount in my TSP, so that I could hopefully make more in my investment than I'm withdrawing??
Thanks Ebb, for sharing your model. I know it's not perfect, but darn near close to it!! It's clearly worth the $15.95 a month!!

Interesting idea Lobo. It kind of goes against the swing trader approach of cutting losses quickly, and letting winners run. But day traders do say, it's never too early to take a profit.
It's months like August that will make it tough as it was up 9%.

Yes. You can.
That's is precisely my plan. I will request from TSP a 10% withdrawl/year to be divided in 12 months. If I get at least 12% earning per year (it does not seem to be an impossible task) the value of the capital will remain intact. Any thing above 12% will be more gravy in the pot.

Play around with the monthly payments calculator on the TSP site to determine how much you can comfortably withdraw each month. And don't forget tax.- Status
