So maybe that's the answer. Perhaps if you're a paying member, then when you head to the page that gives you Ebb's system, there should also be a message board on the same page. Or at least a link to a password protected message board where Ebb and the paying members can hash-out how the system is performing and why.

In the end, this whole dancing around the elephant in the living room thing is killing me. That and not being able to hear open discussion on whatever moves are being made makes me feel less confident in the system, not more.

My two-fair value-cents.

What is the system you are referring to? The big elephant that I assume is ebb-info is now a premium service. A service to which I am a subscriber. Look, Ebb's info is a system. His system works and he is being compensated for it. It is only fair that the Elephant (I prefer bull) recieve returns on his investment, "time", and I want thank him. But NEVER think that his or any system is 100%. I may talk about where I am in the market but you can pretty much see that on other pages on this site. I try to follow the signs of "ALL" the information. In the end it's just a coin toss. Open discussion is about the markets and not a system. Gleen the information and make your decisions. $0.02 more!

Talk all you want about the Ebb system - you'd be surprised how many people are not paying attention. It don't mean a thing.

For so few paying attention, it's amazing how Ebb's Account Talk continues to remain so popular. Kinda like how the innovation of VHS improved ticket sales at the movie theater... :D.

There is nothing so loud as a whisper...

Ebb's System is a computer based system designed by him to monitor the markets for maximum gain. He has no reason to disclose the nuts and bolts that make it work - and none of us have any basis to demand the details. Thus it is - and should remain - a Premium Service.

I gave my $162 - because when I couldn't determine how to adjust the TSP at the beginning of 8/07 I wholly followed his system and did very well through 9/07. Even though I currently do my own thing I feel he deserves something for the gains I reaped. Also at some point over the next year - when I am uncertain - I will turn to Ebb's Chart.

I'm sorry if I come across too strong - but many seem leary and far too many seem bothered by the cost. He can not guarantee future gains will remain at 30% - but if they do (or come close) then $162 is a bargin.

I, too, think that someplace on the boards, we should be able to talk about the Ebb system --- this is just awkward.

Gail
Amen.

'Course I have trouble just posting period. How many user names nad passwords are required on this system?

It's worse than the Army (who I work for) at least they are moving to single sign on with CAC. :D

I guess we have to speak in code. I'm going to stay in the prior fund and not the latter. I would say why, but that would give away too much info. I'd suggest looking at the charts and using your own good sense. I don't think you'd go wrong either way, but there's no way of telling the future so....Good Luck with whatever you choose! :)

I decided that, too, based on Ebb's latest writeup. (His wording suggest he is much more fond of one particular fund than the other ones!;))

I still think it sucks that they cannot do transfers on the very few days when we have a fed holiday, but the market is still open. I hear what is said about overtime, but does it take ALL the employess to be there to move our funds around??? Hard to believe, if true!
Just my $.02,
Bigdave

My understanding is that what you chose for Monday, you will get for Tuesday.
Yes it bites that no transfers are done on Monday but it is a Federal Holiday and do you want to pay for their overtime? And if they would get comp time instead when could they take it that wouldnt affect us getting service?

Isn't the transfers largely done by computers anyway? It sounds to me like all the changes for the day are queued up until a certain hour (after 6:00pm?) and then executed by computer. How many actual humans does that take? Don't laugh. I think this is a valid question. How many people would be laughing if on Tuesday the bottom dropped out and we were in the wrong posisition simply because we weren't allowed to make a IFT! I'm sorry if I sound over dramatic, but I think it would not be too difficult to implement.

I agree.

Ebb, can you pass this to Tom, and see what he thinks?

Remember, TSP is a tool for saving for retirement, not a stock trader. LOL...That is the standard response from TSP.
Honestly, I just like the fact that we CAN move frequently to avoid your scenario for market drops.

Now, now - that message board is gonna cost ya. :toung:

No need to speak in code today...Tom posted Ebb's moves for monday and tuesday in his daily commentary for those who have paid but still can't access the service

Wrong.

If you are refering to the "old" EBB page

http://www.tsptalk.com/ebbchart.html

then you are wrong. The spinchart shown on that page is a SAMPLE!

EBB, I knew there was going to be confusion on this since it doesn't have the actual dates on the spinchart, just the names of the days.
Perhaps you need to highlight the text that says "SAMPLE SPINCHART"!:)

....my bad. You actually do have it highlighted!:embarrest: Maybe you need to highlight it in RED! Or put a warning and surround it in a box!

JMHO,

Bigdave

As EW-ret just pointed out "we would have to have a Board for each PFS", and probably separate trackers! BAAHHH!:worried:

Now let me see how many more good folks I can agitate. It's your money and you are privileged as an individual in a fiduciary account to waste it in a manner you see redeemable. Where my friend Ferdinand would say: Where stupidity is practiced, suffering soon follows. That should raise a little dander. Honestly, each to his own - that's what makes the markets such an equal opportunity slayer. Good luck to the entrepreneurial spirit.

What amauldin is talking about is the fact that we CAN'T have a open disscussion on this board about what fund we are in because this is proprietary information and cannot or should not be posted in a public forum! That is what his metaphor is about!

BTW, this IS posted in the Ebbnflow's Account Talk forum, so what system do you think he is fererring to?

Also, where does amauldin ever say that Ebb's system is 100%???
