DreamboatAnnie's Account Talk

Earlier today, on FBN Closing Bell, Liz Clamen had a person on from Ladbrokes, British Gambling company, they are receiving lots of bets on Brexit. The odd they are giving has it so the chances are now at 75% stay, 25% exit. Quite a huge difference!!! They were confident, but admit it could go the other way.

Yes. I was watching a video put out by the Brexits that describe the waste the EU incurs annually (2B a year) by moving their HQ from Belgium to Strasborg, FR once a year for 4 days. The rest of the time the Strasborg HQ ( a massive facility) is vacant. They argue that this is just one example of EU waste and that it costs each member nation dearly. Government waste....hmmmm...

The news is saying that Immigration is the main issue but a friend of mine who lives in England says for him it's all about the costs of belonging. He surmises that the cost to Britain will be tall in the short term but that the country will be better off in the long term. I am not an economist but if you're not enjoying huge cost benefits to your country for belonging, why belong? I also hear that the Danes, the Swedes and the Belgians are all thinking about this issue internally.

Really quite interesting. The EU is facing a serious challenge and it seems to me that they haven't done a great job explaining how a strong in in everyone's best interest.

I agree. I don't see how any country would want to bind themselves to such an extent that you start to lose your country's independence. The immigration issue must be huge!!! and the expenses too.

The whole thing last year with Greece was huge, and that will rear its ugly head again and with other countries in the EU. Also, Bailing out others gets old quick, though I understand Britain did not need to participate in that nearly to the extent that Germany did. But Germany welcoming 1 million from Syria was huge and they can travel anywhere, and will end up paying for that when they start moving around. No control.

I kinda feel the same way about the UN. Money out versus what we get???

If the Brexit happens, I understand there is a 2-year transition period. Should be enough time to negotiate new trade deals. But uncertainty is what would be bad during the interim. In the long-run, I think they would be better off. But I think they will stay.

Welp...market just skulking along waiting for the action. Brexit vote tomorrow and results on Friday. I guess that is when it will abreak loose....one way or the other. Janets bubble talk is a downer, but true.

Best Wishes to Everyone on your Investments!!!!!!!!!! :D

Futures (Dow) down 451 points right now. Of course that could reverse in a few hours once the polls are more complete.... leave is ahead of stay in EU by couple percent.

Great for Britains independence!!!

Overnight futures went down a little more than 700... But not surprised to see it leveling off at a lower loss. More shakeups coming for the EU in coming weeks...months. Might be a bit messy for awhile. But still...good for them in long run.

I still think might be more downside on Monday, after folks think more on it over the weekend. But think it will go back up, maybe not to same level....but who knows??? Reportedly, the banks in europe to get hit hardest. Stronger dollar to affect our exports.

But our markets affected so much by Fed. This should make them even more dovish about raising rates this year. That would be good for our markets, but reality still that economy/growth not strong. Eventually bubble will burst.....hopefully not while we are in it. Still in overall downtrend, so strategy still to get in and out quick during short-term counter rallies. Tough with only 2 IFTs.

Best wishes to everyone on your Investments!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D

DBA: I think we retreat further for a time (at least the next 10 days). No idea where we'll ultimately end up but 1980ish wouldn't surprise me. There are some open gaps in the 1800's and lower but I don't think we're headed there YET. After things stabilize, I think 2040 will be the upper benchmark for a while. Just my guess based on the pivots and assuming a roughly 3-4% correction before all the mom and pops are out. I think the fear continues into Monday with volatile conditions over the next 10 days.

Here's a factoid: SPX just had an extremely strong rally that lasted 20 weeks, yet in just 7 hours last night, the futures erased the last 16 weeks of that rally, and erased 38% of the price appreciation. Never underestimate a stretched market.

Hi FS, Great point and well taken. Its all still sinking in. But still good for Britain in the long run and a good kick in the nads to all those globalist, trying to rein in the masses. We have assumed control! We have assumed control!! Rush 2112!!! :D

DBA, you never cease to amaze! A RUSH fan! Fantastic! RUSH, a band for the thinking person. I tuned into RUSH with Exit... Stage Left and Signals, three concerts, Moving Pictures, P/G, A Show of Hands... I recently picked up Fly By Night, 2112 and Permanent Waves. I just checked their discography, I've got some catching up to do. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rush_discography

Fantastic reference to the current state of global affairs! Thanks!

Thanks WS! One of my favorite all time bands. Spent Summer of 76 hanging with friends listening to 2112 over and over... Still have the vinyl....Memorized words to whole album! Saw them that Summer and two more times later years...including their tour with Tom Sawyer song. :D

I guess no one really knows what is going to happen in markets this week. Future down now. I'm out of IFTs so there is nothing I can do to enter even if I wanted to. But I don't think I would, even if I did. The Risk is so high now! The market did not expect the Brexit so the unexpected result likely brings tons of volatility for weeks.. months. I was listening to the latest Chris Ciovacco video that Nnutt posts on that thread. Makes a lot of sense. Chris discussed a lot about the conviction of the market that was VERY interesting.

I guess some might want to try to take advantage of the large hit... buy low, etc. But I guess with this being such a shock, I wonder if it might cause a reversal for more than just a few days or weeks. Welll.... we will see. I hope it pops up for anyone who was in it and still in....

Good Night and Best Wishes to Everyone on Your Investments!!!!!!! :D

Market just keep changing it up. I am finally back from a week long vacation. Good to be back but swamped. Went tubing down the Frio River (near Concan), a couple hours West of San Antonio in the Hill Country. Very pretty over that way... big hills, lots of Cypress trees and clear Spring water to swim in. Nice 4-hour float down the river with friends, family and a big ice chest of cold beer. Relaxing and fun!!! Other days just played in the river, hung out at the cabin, swam in pool, had lots of Dos Equis and Tequila and BBQ'd a lot!! Oh... and nephew made some killer margaritas!! Used "Cabrito" brand tequila...really smooth!!!

Anyways.... looked at charts last night and figured that I should have entered the market on either Tuesday or Wednesday. Was going to get in today, but as luck would have it, I was too busy at work. Indicators have hit for entry into C fund. MACD crossed positive and 10 day EMA is above the 20. Even so... it just doesn't seem to be showing a great deal of conviction (i.e. MACD line is not steeply sloped up, and just slightly above flattish). Bollingers wide. Seems like a time for consolidation and meandering.

Then on the S fund, well that wasn't what I would look to get into but the top Bollinger is sloping down. Not so appetizing.

Will see about entry tomorrow, but just not really all that into getting in. I might just need to stick with a break for now. With job reports tomorrow, no telling what happens. I think I really need a much longer vacation!!!! Gosh....how long is it before I can retire??????

Wishing you a Great Night and Best Wishes to you all on your Investments!!!!!! :D

I guess the big "message" is that the lanes have cleared, and its an all go signal. Talking heads today seem to think market will continue up regardless of earnings. So the message is to buy the dips if you can find any. Hummmm..... will chew on that. Oh.... and it seems the strategy indicators that hit for me last week do work!! Too bad I did not follow my strategy....ugghhhhhh...clearly a case of user error! Note to self: I will execute on my strategy. I will execute on my strategy. I will execute on my strategy!!!!! Repeat 10,000 times.

Good evening and best wishes to everyone on your investments!!!!!!!!!

Well... I missed my boat last week (Tue/Wed) when MACD crossed above its signal line after Slow Stochastic had already crossed days before. Plus the 10 EMA crossed above the 20 day EMA.

So now I am looking to see when I would have exited if I were in it. Thing is, I would still be in. Thats because this upswing is only about 6 days old. Now while in downtrend that would seem an eternity, but right now i am wondering if we could be re-entering at least a short term uptrend so I think maybe...just maybe this goes longer??? Humm.....the slope on MACD is severely up and the Bollingers on C fund are quite bowed out. To me that means this may have a ways more to go....maybe out a full 12-15 days from start of upswing (so possibly another week or two...obviously with a few down days but overall up). Also, price wick has not even come close to touching the 20 day EMA, which seems to happen when upswing is starting to lose steam.

I'm tempted to enter now even though I'm late, but I will not. I'll be patient and just keep track of how the strategy does even if I didn't execute. It will be hard to wait for next entry point. I think it is a couple weeks away.

Ho...hum.... I think I'll just file my Cuda teeth and read up on poker strategy for the next TSP Texas Holdem Poker night!!

Hope you're having a Great Night! Best Wishes to you on your Investments!!!!!!!! :D
