Market hasn't treated me very well this year. Some of that my fault. Just hoping to not have a negative year. Right now I'll be happy with a zero at the end of the year.

Hi Nasa, I feel you! I am probably around 2.8% as of COB yesterday....Timing definitely off this year but this market has been brutal and extremely volatile. I looked back at prior years and I am surprised.

But for now I am sticking in at 50%. I should have entered today as originally planned. I really veered off course quite a bit this year. I will shake it off, not look back too much, and will work on this coming year. I'll fix what I need to, or at least try, and cut myself a break. You Are What You Think---(a very good book by David Stoop)!!

I have never experienced a downtrend in managing my monies the past two and a half years. Just learned about options expiring on the 3rd Friday of some months and how they can affect the market. Apparently that is what caused drop in late August (per articles I have read). Wish I had known about that. So getting a little wiser... or at least I hope so. I jumped in a little too early on that one.. while half way down. Then this time...too late.. probably half way up.

But I am staying positive!!!! I will take this all as necessary learning and work to improve and subscribe to some services to learn more (I am thinking about Ira Epstein and of course TSP Talk Plus). That is what I want to focus on...plus staying the course and following my own heart and opinion. Yes.. take in news but not let it rule.

Fibonacci retracement is something I have been interested in for some time now but just have not studied it. So I am coming up with a list for next year. Will tweak strategy a bit, but work much harder at sticking to it. That is the tough part for me!!!

sooo entertaining. yet soooo politically incorrect.

it only works because they are brown. colleges can't even have taco tuesday cafeteriea nights on campus and wear sombreros. if a participant is white, get expelled for such cultural faux paxs.

but this isn't a political thread, and i'm not easily offended. interesting video and culture we live in now though.

Good Evening... Great to see a little up move in market!! Hoping for another up day tomorrow. We shall see....

Almost finished with shopping, tree up, made new door wreaths and have put up some pretty Christmas sparkle balls into the trees in backyard. Just love Christmas....now waiting for Santa!!!

Oh darn...that picture is too wide and cut off most of balls to the right. So here is another of picture of the ones in courtyard. The big ones are 18" diameter and smaller ones are 10-12".

Made them with chicken wire and string lights. Simple to make....you tube!! Yes...I am a little crafty!!!!!! :D
Still need to cover electric cords to hide.....garland???

Lol...thats not my back patio. Have sliding glass in den and windows all across facing backyard with view of the Christmas tree and sparkle balls.

That last picture is from my front door that faces into the courtyard. Have sitting area to left of door that has view of those sparkle balls and iron gate to right of the red ball that goes out to the front yard. Its a fairly large space (bigger than that view). Trees shade most of it and I like to sit out there, drink coffee, read charts, listen to birds and watch squirrels chase each other in the trees. Thing is that I do keep the gate locked. No solicitors! Lol....and can sit there any time of night safely and hear the deer....lots of deer. Not that its a dangerous area but you cant be too careful.

You ain't kidding about the deer! I was west of Fredericksburg late one night driving through on my way to Austin and all I could see were thousands of deer eyes glowing from the headlights. It was both amazing and kind of creepy at the same time. Like something out of a science fiction movie. :nuts: I was probably more creeped out about driving through there by myself late at night than a bunch of deer.
