DreamboatAnnie's Account Talk

DBA,

Here is what you posted awhile back in regards to red and black candles. :D

Note - Explanation on candlesticks:

Candlestick Colors- BLACK versus RED -
BLACK means it closed higher than previous candlestick's close.
RED means it closed lower than previous close.

Candlestick Fill - EMPTY versus FILLED Candle -
EMPTY candle means it closed higher than it opened (i.e. price started at bottom of candle and ended at top of candle).
SOLID candle means it closed lower than it opened (i.e. price started at top of candle and ended at bottom of candle).
Typically you get SOLID RED and EMPTY BLACK candles.

Less Common:
SOLID Black forms when price gaps up (at start of period) and then falls, but was still above close from prior period (e.g. prior day on daily chart). Note: So, Price closes at bottom of black solid candle body (not at top).

EMPTY Red forms when price gaps down (at start of period) and then goes up, but was still below prior period close (e.g. prior day on daily chart). Note: So, Price closes at top of red empty candle body (not at bottom).

ravensFan beat me to it..... lol

Ahhh..... I found this on https://www.investopedia.com/articl...stick,bearish and indicates selling pressure. :

A black or filled candlestick means the closing price for the period was less than the opening price; hence, it is bearish and indicates selling pressure. Meanwhile, a white or hollow candlestick means that the closing price was greater than the opening price. This is bullish and shows buying pressure.

I never knew that........

Ravensfan and Epic. Thank you for the information! I tried to give both of you reputation points but it would not let me...:(
I will give some rep as soon as I can!

I'm looking at your S-Fund purple trend line, there's some room to run before resistance. :scratchchin:

If I understand charting (which I don't....LOL), I'd say your trending between the 20 Day (dashed line) and the lower trend line & Bollinger Band. 20 Day line will act as resistance. If you manage to push through it, then it acts as support.
DAM, it actually sounds like I know what I'm talking about..... Nahhhhhh, not a chance :nuts:

Hi Whipsaw, agree S fund has room to run up to purple dashed trendline and its popping today, but there are some EMAs to push through to reach that upper trendline.

Hi Epic, agree the 20 MA will act as resistance. Looks like black candle (bottom is price point) is sitting right at midpoint of Bollinger band (=20 MA).

Best wishes to you both!

I was seriously considering maybe putting 50% in S, but the black candle made me hold off. There's always another day.
Thanks again for the insight !!
:fing02:

I seriously consider a transfer every day, but I’m just plain gun shy at this point.

I need to see 3 or more days of gains with favorable chances of more gains before I go back to business as usual.

Thanks Epic and RangerRay. Your comments are very appreciated.

I am convinced that MACD crossover going up is good for entry for current environment and should ignore black candle exit altogether. But it does precede drops very often. Ugghhh... Just can't get my hands on any dough! Very frustrating! :(

I NEED TO STICK TO ONE STRATEGY. I am going to erase all vertical lines from charts starting next week to concentrate on MACD strategy BUT will keep the PINK lines for reference.

MACD Strategy:
For entry, MACD must cross above its signal line.
For exit, MACD should form crest or cap before exiting, fully or partially. Cross below signal line is 100% exit in all cases.

Charts before noon cutoff. Best wishes! Trying to simplify...fewer lines. MACD strategy...pink lines remain only for reference.

For what it's worth, MPW https://twitter.com/MasterPandaWu predicting SPX going down to 3750. That's gonna be huge if it happens.
He's not always correct, but he's one of the few that I've found that will stick his neck out there and commit to something instead of just talking about what's already happened.
Should be interesting ......
