DreamboatAnnie's Account Talk

So this morning I am doing a risky buy in at 50% to S fund. Risky because 13 EMA below 20, but see 20 Stochastic hit below 20 and starting to rise; though MACD not yet gone up. This might be premature buyin. Will see.. Best wishes to you all!

DBA I missed my exit last week so hanging in there and looking like I may be áble to recover by staying in.

Best wishes to you Todd! I hope market goes up for you this week!!

I finally had a chance to take closer look at charts and see that S fund did not actually have its 13 EMA drop below 20 SMA. The C fund definitely did on Friday last week. So under my longer term strategy, which I have not yet fully embraced, if I had been true to it, I would have entered S fund back in early November without any exit to date. eeeeee..... I missed that entry and have been trying to buy dips ever since then. Not the best strategy and each buy is a nail biter! Lol...:boggled:

Thanks DBA I'm 100 % S since 1-8 and hanging in there. Tried to get out the day before the recent drop at 11:40 and TSP locked me out, wouldn't send two-factor code!
Finally the code came in @12:43!
Just be aware it seems the site can get overwhelmed around IFT cutoff time!

Sad to hear that Todd. I've been transacting around 20 minutes before cutoff without issue. So, maybe I've just been lucky. I usually get authentication code via text to my personal cell phone and it always appears within about 5 seconds. Then entry and IFT submission goes without issue. Hummmm...... I used to send it to Govt email but that was tooooo slow.

Well let's keep whistling and hope it continues up. Dow futures up 153 pts while Russell mini up 10 (about .53%) right now.

Best wishes ! $$$$$. :D:D:D

Thanks DBA, yes I use text for my auth code. Futures are up and just below the 'Line in the Sand' it appears. I may do a partial or complete exit today since today's futures are positive and tomorrow and beyond are questionable!! Today may drop as I heard Pfizer and others are expected to have disappointing earnings reports. Volatility rules!
Good luck All!!

I missed jumping in. 100%G at the moment. with the various earnings reports, current volatility and budget items on the horizon; i'm expecting another entry point will come along - they always do anyway. I'm thinking Feb 20 - 23 if not before. sitting on my hands waiting; but, I know I'm not loosing money and don't think i'd gain enough for the risk to jump in late - especially with only two moves to make. Awesome you're getting to take advantage DB, and TodB glad you're making up the difference! continued luck to you. I hope everyone else is as lucky too. If not, have patience - its a marathon.

Hi everyone! I recommend everyone call the TSP helpline and insist they add a selectable option as to where the code can be sent. Having go to one place is bad, as folks can be at work, home, without cell phone, can't get to email... etc. Too much at stake!

Hi Whipsaw...my log in gives me option on where to send the code. It has text preselected and I just never change it. But options come up on my screen...

I guess dollar going UP is tempering equities this morning. Even goes against VIX which is down and should help equities...hummmm. I had thought to buy in some more but will wait a little longer...need some powder, just in case... :D:D:D. I notice no one has put in an IFT yet...guess folks still having breakfast and contemplating...lol... Best wishes to you All*!!!!!

Dang it.. I was hoping for a clear direction this morning. Man I need out of this g fund though.. As usual.. Being out is riskier than being in... (unless of course it's me that's in.... Then I get bit). Thinking maybe do 10% today to get my feet wet.

OK...13% S, 13% C cob today.

Nice... So Price now hitting upper Bollinger. Per Ira Epstein, the first time it hits upper band, pros take some money off the table so would not be surprise if it drops a bit tomorrow. But with today's earnings, now have a little cushion. I am waiting to see what happens early next week for pushing in a bit more...will see!

Best wishes to you all*!!! :D:D:D
PS. Can't post S fund chart as Stockcharts has not updated today. Sent them msg....ugh.... But did look at $EMW and IMW and both show the intraday candle touching upper band, Woooo...hoooo..Also, VIX and Dollar down, TRAN up. ..

Here is C fund.

Thanks DBA! Ira talks about the '18 day moving average of closes' or something, is that the 18 SMA or EMA? Or something else? :cheesy:

Thanks DBA! Ira talks about the '18 day moving average of closes' or something, is that the 18 SMA or EMA? Or something else? :cheesy:

Hi Whipsaw, Ira uses the 18 day Simple Moving Average of closes. He calls it "The Line in the Sand". He holds that price will tend to gravitate back to this point... considered neutral area. When it stays in that area (I.e. price keeps KISSING that daily simple moving average) this means it is going to do something.

When price goes above it, he says market has a bullish "bias" and the 18 dSMA becomes support. If it goes below, he says market has bearish "bias" and that dSMa becomes resistance. This is per notes I wrote down from his course, which I took last year. But he uses other MAs as well. He often talks about this in his daily End of Day financial videos. But, those videos don't present all his teaching, though he gives very good information and worth watching. They are Very good! I understand he now gives signals for indexes that TSP tracks, but I've not looked into it.

Hope you are well! Take care WS!
