Cowboys Account Account Talk

Hmmm... This is funny. I am more than 10k miles away with a great Pacific Ocean in between and currently running a dial up which has an average run of 42kbps and I am getting in just fine. It takes me 3-5 minutes though to make one transaction especially when it is too close for the deadline. All of my allocation changes have been between 5-10 minutes before deadline.

The trade was done yesterday prior to 11:00 Am and did not take effect even though I confirmed the transaction. How could you go back and say I am in C when they didn't transfer me and I am still F as of COB yesterday and stalled in it now? I have made a lot of transactions and know the system and it has failed on me at least 3 to 4 times in the last year. It is past trying to make the trade! I would have been C today but the interfund did not take effect apparently. :X:(

At least you are in the position now to make that jump tomorrow. Remember, everytime Mr. G speaks, the market tanks.:)

Pyriel, I am thinking the markets may go down some tomorrow and will play again but it does throw the timing off. The markets could get into a whipsaw situation though as we are at the top and I may sit in the F fund hoping to regain some of the last few days losses as it is at a 50 day average mark.

Cowboy, stay away from bonds if Greenspan emphasizes again how long term rates haven't risen yet. Re-finance your home now if you haven't already. Get a home loan and invest it, etc.................with a fixed rate of course.

TSP is jammed at around 11 o'clock EST these days. Not much you can do about it but try to make moves earlier or the night before.

I hear TSP only has one person working on IFT's during the day, I think their name is Greenspan, not sure though............<:o)

I think the market is thinking Mr Bubbles is going to say something negative the futures:

DOW -21

500 -2.10

NAS -5

The treasury bonds and notes yields are up steeply.

Normally there is little movement at this time of night.

My take on tomorrow, if they ask him a BUDGET question this time:

Alan Greenspan listening to a question and he licking his thick cracked lips, with his beady, rat-like eyes darting from side to side in panic.

Stare into the foul darkness of his soul, a soul so corrupt that is going straight to Hell when he dies for sinning, "Thou shalt not debasemy currency!"

OK. That was a little over the top. But you got a small view from my eyes. :?

The U.S. sold off on Monday and the Internationals fared well, even with some major bad economic news Germany all time high unemployment, slow down in UK housing market, et, etc. The internationals are doing great at present. If it was ME and I was in the I FUND I would bank my gain and transfer now to G. I would say if you are in the S and C fund you do not want to sell into a sell off. If you are in the F fund (stand by for some pain). This is what I think will happen since you asked me.

But I can safely say I have no idea what the market will do. There are not many times when I have no idea to go short or long. I find when there is no clear direction to stay to the side and let things play out.

Of course that is my .02. However, the U.S. futures are getting weaker each time I check, on a normal night you see little or no movement at this time. The real picture is about five to six hours from now.

Good luck!

I agree with your opinion of I and F funds. I do think however if you are in S or C, sell now and buy back in due time.

My feeling with internationals is that a lot of US big money just bought internationalcompanies and fundswhich is why they went up Monday. Today was a lateral move, which is usually not a good sign.

One of my companies is BHP which sold off a little today but has been riding pretty good for awhile.

Just as a "let's see", a little birdy told me AAPL would open 5% higher tomorrow on the news of some new product. Guess we'll see................

There are huge OUTFLOWS of U.S. mutual funds from U.S. equities to international equites. That is adding to their gains. The U.S. indexes are holding up but I am seeing cracks in the foundation. Take a look at the NASDAQ chart (YEEK).

Does anyone like us anymore?? "Rice conveyed her "disappointment" over the withdrawal to her Canadian counterpart Pierre Pettigrew when they met on Tuesday at the sidelines of a London meeting on Palestinian reforms.

If there is Cold War II: One side A you got; Russia, Syria, Iran, China, North Korea, Venusula, Cuba, France, Germany and the UN (lol). On sideB you got: U.S., me myself and I, oh yeah Iraq (lol).

Vect - I do not have a link. I am on a paid service. So you would not be able to get in.

Update:

Dow -18

500 - 2.50

NAS -6

Crude 51.65

Normally there is no movement this time of night. Usually flat for a number of hours.

Yes that is a good looking chart. However, a couple of us like to sweat the day to day stuff. I would rather be in G fund the day Mr bubbles is talking to the budget committee. They may ask him a BUDGET question. Or he may not like the way the 30year is acting and actually speak English.

Sorry about the futures stuff. Teknobucks had a site he was using but after comparing his site was greatly outdated. Need current data to make current decisions.

As long as it is free to transfer in the TSP I am going to use it. If social security goes private and 225M new (small) accounts are added that MAY not be the case anymore. Or they will have a limit like the mutual funds are doing for the number of transfers. They are having problems now. I just can not see them keeping it the same way. ESPECIALLY if everyone is requesting to have theirs mailed to them. .37 x 20-100M a day may ADD up. That would suck, we go into a bear market and your transfer limit is up for the year. YEEK. Just watch those suckers sink and sink and sink...would not be fun.

Good enough for FREE. It is about 15 minutes off. Does not have the dow thou. Hard to read for me. But for free good enough. The MSN site can be off by HOURS.

Freaking Oz raised their interest rates (first time in 15 months)down about 95K on that. Draughts. They have a Borg problem. Trade balance. In 10-15 years the Borg will invade for the natural resources. Draughts! My houses are on sale.

Most of us don't make the money you do...............don't expect me to spend my beer money on futures sites do ya?

imported post

Actually, what is wrong with us? The market does not open for 10 hours and we are sweating about the futures :(.

Going to pack it in. Here is what I do:

10 minutes before Greenspan comes on, drank a beer, kick back, five minutes into his statement you will sleep the sleep of the dead. Works like a charm. What I like is they have the box in box thing where they have an "expert" come on and try to explain what Greenspan is saying and the expert does not interpret what he is saying correctly. GOT TO love it.

"If you understand what I am saying, let me rephrase". Mr Bubbles.
