We still have one day to go before the data for next week's tracker charts are ready, but here's two preliminary numbers for you:

Top 50 - Current Stock Allocation: 75.52%
Total Tracker - Current Stock Allocation: 64.62%

We've gotten bulled up very fast. But these numbers don't include today's IFTs. My guess is we will be going into next week holding much higher stock positions than in previous months. And our sentiment survey came in overly bullish (bearish), which keeps it on a sell.

I had mentioned in last night's blog that Trader's Talk daily sentiment reading was over 70%, but that the survey wasn't closed yet. As of this morning that reading is now right at 50%. Not as bullish, but still a bit heavy for a bear market. That survey is only good on a day to day basis, while ours is weekly.

If we are up again today, I am inclined to continue lightening up my stock position, but keep in mind that seasonality may trump sentiment for at least the next week. Momentum is to the upside right now and we could go much higher yet before the next pullback.

Thanks CH.

Listening to a few of the talking heads this AM. Some believe we will melt up to the 1350 range. To me that would be an all out rally with just 5 trading days remaining, I don't see it, but I do believe 1310 is in the cards. Depends on when big money decides to end their year.

I'm hearing some impressive numbers too, but that's more risk than I care to take. I have a utilities fund in one of ROTHs and that just hit a fresh yearly high earlier this week. That's another safety play just like treasuries and I view that as longer term bearish. I'm also seeing some pros back off their bearish predictions to start the new year. Now, some are starting to say we may trend higher until the 2nd quarter or so.

Hopefully in 2012 I'll know when to bail. I did not do myself any favors this past year.
I could handle relaxing after the second quarter.

I'm with you on hoping to know when to bail. 3rd & 4th quarter has hurt me pretty good. Good luck in 2012. I know I will need it. ;)
