coolhand's Account Talk

cool, saw you idled back a bit with yesterdays ift. This sparked a question I thought you might have the answer too. After two IFt's, does one have the option to IFT a percentage of current allocation to G fund or is it a 100% to G option only?

Example: Can someone on third IFT do this?
Before- 100% C
After- 50%G 50% C

After the first two IFTs you are allowed an unlimited number of IFTs as long as you only move from F,C,S, or I to the G fund (I suppose the L funds are included too). I'd have to go back and count, but I think I've used at least 5 or 6 IFTs this month. The TSP board gave us the flexibility to move to cash in increments, but we can't scale into stocks beyond two IFTs a month.

Perfect, thank you very much. One day I will return this knowledge, right now I'm very much a sponge monitoring trends and asking questions. Love this forum:D

True. However, you still have the <1% IFT Option available.

Interesting comment on CNBC: the Fed is giving an aid package to Wall Street with QE2. Instead of just marking up all assets electronically and being done with it, they are in effect providing Wall Street with more commissions and continuing the inefficiencies in propping up prices..
