I've been looking at my quarterly statements and building some very basic spreadsheets.
Is there a set day of when finance, through your paycheck, purchase your shares? It apprears to be on the monday of the workweek we all get paid on. Is those share prices based on Friday's Close or Monday's Close share value?
Thanks.
I don't know if I understand your question correctly or not, however, I'll give
it my best shot. Once the market closes it takes approximately three and a
half hours (7:30pm est) before they publish the share prices on the TSP
website. Contributions from my paycheck will be entered after they come
up with the closing share prices on Tuesday Night. On Wednesday morn,
my contributions are in their designated funds.
Monday: Normal Operations
Tuesday: After the market closes, Contributions are added at 7:30 prices.
Wednesday: Normal Operations
If you make a Contribution Allocation Change at the same time that you
do a IFT, the Confirmation Email can help show you how the account was
affected, but not seperately. If you spread your contrib's to multiple funds
it becomes more difficult and sometime, all but impossible to track. I use
to put all contributions in one fund at 100%. It was easier to track. Now,
I'm considering using my Contributions to add shares to all funds, even
though it becomes more complicated to track.
Hope this helps !
