Confused about Intrepid Timer's Premium Service

Hello all,

I'm looking at Intrepid Timer's Premium Service via free trial.

1. I don't understand the charts at the top especiallly the "System" percentage. What is this suppose to mean? What is the chart actually trying to tell me anyway?

2. Under the 12-22-10 commentary, it starts talking about current signals from a previous date???? Very confusing. Am I looking at old data? I'd hate to act on old data. Since today is 12-22-10, why not talk about current signals for TODAY?

3. It talks about possibly getting a buy signal today but this exact message was on the site a couple of days ago....so again, is this old data???

4. When I look at the chart called "TSP Closing Prices with Intrepid Trader's signal, I completely don't understand the date(s) like "40532"....and I have no clue as to the real date of this entry.

Bottom line, It seems I don't have a warm and fussy feeling about the dates on this page. Proper dating of all entries, multiple times, I feel are absolutely critical. Also, I have no idea what to do based on this page. Nothing clearly sticks out that says "Move 100% to S" or "Move 60% to G and 40% to C"

Sorry for all my confusion!!

David

Don't be concerned - when you follow a system you follow the system. You have to have faith in what you purchase. I simply don't have an extra $20/month.

Who Fussin? :D
I_T has his own thread y not ask him?

I would expect when he gets a signal buy/or sell - he will notify his subscribers. Up to you to act on that data before 12 noon.

Oh Brudder! - the guy with his 600K Oceanic account, wallflowers out the gazoo, buy buy buy, bull snort snort - cant afford 20 sawbucks that might get him a few more % in the ol TSP.

BT, you, you - kook!

I was being polite because I don't use any systems, period. Please, the oceanic account has a LMV of $3.4M.

david - BTs TSP moves are clear for all see, follow him if you wish. Hey you may do pretty good.

But I need to really excell in 2011 to make up for a rotten 2010.

I_T claims his system works just as well even in a bear market.

Hi David -

I think I see where your confusion was. This 6-week free trial period also allows us to work out the bugs on our end and I think I see where we had messed up by overlaying a couple of reports. I think we have it straightened it out now.

I do appreciate anyone who points out problems for us.

thanks

Hello all,

I'm looking at Intrepid Trader's Premium Service via free trial.

1. I don't understand the charts at the top especiallly the "System" percentage. What is this suppose to mean? What is the chart actually trying to tell me anyway?

The chart at the top shows my return compared to the other TSP funds year date and for 2009 and 2008. The percentage under "system" is my actual return. It should say "Intrepid_Trader's system", however, since that title is so long, "system" shows up right over my percentage.

2. Under the 12-22-10 commentary, it starts talking about current signals from a previous date???? Very confusing. Am I looking at old data? I'd hate to act on old data. Since today is 12-22-10, why not talk about current signals for TODAY?

You are not looking at old data and I am talking about TODAY's signal. The signal was initially given on Dec. 14th and I'm just stating that system remains on a sell for the equities funds ( C, S and I) and buy for the F fund. My system does not produce daily signal changes. I'll use the term "initiated" from now. Perhaps that will help. Or maybe something like "My system remains on a sell signal for the C, S and I funds which was initiated on 12/14/10?

3. It talks about possibly getting a buy signal today but this exact message was on the site a couple of days ago....so again, is this old data???

I don't get my actual buy or sell signal until 11:00am ET. I post my commentary at 10am ET and I'm just trying to warn people to be on the look out for a signal change a little later. I can stop giving the "heads up" if it is confusing people. Just trying to give people a warning that a signal may or may not come between 11-11:30am ET so they can plan to be near a computer. This is just a courtesy and one I don't think anybody else does.

There was one day that I posted my spreadsheets and the "date" entries weren't formatted right. This has been corrected. My apologies.......

Sorry for all my confusion!!

All dates are properly dated. Just one mistake. This is a new service and the kinks need to be ironed out. This is why we are providing the free trial. All data is real time and as accurate as one ole' boy with a lot of data can be.

The chart at the bottom of my daily commentary simply gives my returns in another format. I will be updating this data at the first of the month just to show how I"m doing compared to the other funds. It's really not needed because Tom is doing this on a daily basis with the chart at the top. I just mainly wanted to point out that in the early part of 2008 I didn't post my allocations on the autotracker for three different months because I was working on improving my system and that my actual return was better than what is on the tracker

I hope this helps. :)

BTW, your personal allocations are your own decision. I typically either go 100% S, 100% F or 100% G whenever I get a signal. Others may choose to spread out their allocation, ie, 40% C, 30% S 30% I fund. One fund will outperform the other ones at any given time. I just like the S fund and have used it most over the past 6 years because I like the volatility.

An issue is the timing of your buy and sell guidance so I hope you won't stop giving heads ups. Not everyone is as plugged in as the latest generation, so being near a computer/personal device at noon on any given day may not be routine. Missing a buy signal while in G only means one waits for the next. Missing a sell signal while in S could be a problem.

true, true, I hope you continue to give the heads up also

Will do. What you might want to do is just trying being near a computer at 11:30am ET Mon-Fri and check my web page and email. You'll "might" need to get onto TSP.gov anyway...............One thing that will help, when I get a signal of any sort, it'll be at least three days till I get another one, so it's not a necessity to check those days.........this gives funds in ETF's and mutual funds time to settle also..........of course, you'll want to come by every day and check my commentary!!! :D

Are you going to keep posting on the message board or are you going to fall off the face of the earth?
