I think some of what we're calling grammar confusion in written language is really local/regional spoken colloquiallisms. There's a dif. I will admit I have a problem with people that say "droughth" or "droughthy", instead of drought, or droughty, tho.

I don't see this on the board much, but here in Utah you get a lot of folks saying "was" instead of "were" when talking. It sounds terrible.

We "was" on way to the movie theater when....

was - singular (I was)
were - plural (we were)

But the first reading of anything usually requires me to re-read for accuracy's sake. Imagine my first guffaw reading ChemEng note about the Access instead of assess...cuz that isn't what I read - the first time, anyway !!:laugh:
