Kevin Conroy, the voice actor behind DC’s caped crusader superhero Batman, died from intestinal cancer at the age of 66 on Thursday, November 10 at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City.
Conroy is best-known for his deep, iconic voice which landed him the much-coveted title role in “Batman: The Animated Series,” which ran from 1992 to 1996. Reportedly, over 500 actors auditioned for the role. And so, for the next three decades, Conroy would go on to become the voice behind Batman in not just about three dozen television shows but also a number of movies and video games. 13 animated movies, 14 animated shows, 16 games and 1 live-action episode.... Kevin Conroy gave life to the Caped Crusader more than anyone else in history, making him the most Iconic Batman across all medias and one of the greatest legends in superhero history.
