OOPS! Too many news outlets reported her dead!

I guess "dies peacefully" and "dyes peacefully" mean two different things.

Betty White, pillar of humanity and shining example of all that is funny and spectacular in the world, fell victim to a death hoax Wednesday evening, Sept. 3.
Satirical news site Empire News published a story with the headline "Actress Betty White, 92, Dyes Peacefully In Her Los Angeles Home." White's many fans and other Internet news consumers who don't read past headlines confused "dyes" with "dies" and satire with reality, and pronounced the "Golden Girls" star dead.

The family doesn't seem too upset about Joan Rivers going in for what sounds like a pretty simple throat operation and her never waking up. Anyone think it was euthanasia? Let's face it, she's been under the knife a LOT of times before.....................:confused:
 
I've had two of those things and it freaked me out. I think our old friend just had a heart attack>
 
The Clinic is under investigation..Shoddy practice or procedure lead to the airway becoming blocked starving her for air, causing the cardiac arrest which resulted in brain death and her being placed on life support to see if the brain would reactivate..she has been technically clinically dead since the day she went under for the simple endoscopy.

They stuff this tube thing down your throat that allows you to breathe and clears the airway for their probes, if you cant breathe it would be obvious, no air coming in and out, how can you miss that? She went into cardiac arrest not suffication.

She went into cardiac arrest BECAUSE of suffocation..the larynx will in some cases contract and close off the airway during an endoscopy, giving the appearance of airflow, when only the stomach is what is being filled with air instead of her lungs...An inattentive physician could miss that.
 
You know PO, if you think my post is inappropriate because Carlin has been dead for so long, all you had to do was say so. You don't need to dig up no stinking rules.

I was scrolling through the Lounge, looking at all the threads we've created over the years. It seems there are many threads dedicated to passing celebrities and I was wondering what folks might think of a place for all these threads to reside, including past TSP members who have and eventually will pass away. Perhaps it would be a good way to appreciate the memories we have. Any thoughts?​
