How very sad, he's been with me much of my life, and a part of every generation since. He's also done a great deal for our deployed military, what a tragic loss...

Statement by the President on the Passing of ‪#‎RobinWilliams‬

"Robin Williams was an airman, a doctor, a genie, a nanny, a president, a professor, a bangarang Peter Pan, and everything in between. But he was one of a kind. He arrived in our lives as an alien – but he ended up touching every element of the human spirit. He made us laugh. He made us cry. He gave his immeasurable talent freely and generously to those who needed it most – from our troops stationed abroad to the marginalized on our own streets. The Obama family offers our condolences to Robin’s family, his friends, and everyone who found their voice and their verse thanks to Robin Williams."

Indeed. I used to listen to his records. I still have 'Reality What a Concept' on lp. This is such a shock.

It's unfortunate that we have a thread like this but in life there is death. We all hope it happens later than sooner. But there are times that other people pass away much too soon and we post the sad information. Usually someone that had some special affect on us. But there are some that affected most of us one way or another and I think Robin Williams was on of those talented and special people. It is a shame that the demons got to him and the love, respect and admiration couldn't save him.

To Robin Williams and all the people we have loved and respected that a special place in our hearts will make us better.

Lauren Bacall, the willowy actress whose husky voice, sultry beauty and all-too-short May-December romance with Humphrey Bogart made her an everlasting icon of Hollywood, has died, The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed. She was 89.

Yes, I was a Star Trek kid, could never get enough.......Arlene Matel, who Star Trek fans will remember for playing Spock’s Vulcan bride, T’Pring in “Amok Time,” died on Tuesday, August 12, 2014. She was 78.

I remember that one. She didn't want to marry Spock so she chose Capt. Kirk and Spock had to fight him.

Then Bones gave the Capt. a sleeping drug that made Kirk look dead..which eased Spock's horniness (for a lack of better description of his mood)..Then later back on the ship, Spock was all bummed ready to turn himself over to the Federation. But he flashed a sign of emotion when he seen Kirk was okay and not dead....Nah, I never watched the series:rolleyes:
