Carnac's Corner

wonder if we will get a -18 cent FV tonight.......

Cheesy....

I was guessing around the 24.2 mark for that -18 ufv......wasn't far off....but with the MSCI down 2.08% (I had it down less at midday cutoff), I suppose the -ufv was nulled (padded) for tomorrows action.....so I'm guessing a bit of a rebound on the I tomorrow, but it won't look like much....just even or so....

Crystal Balls think we are headed to 1410 or so on the S&P500 before we see some sort of temporary relief.....

U know the old saying "the early bird gets...."...well, I like the one that says "Patience is a ...." and it is a good motto at the moment according to the CB's........so be patient and don't put your money on the line....

Some of us know better! That is not to listen and put most of the money on the thin blue line - be in to win.

I guessing todays -fv is around -.50.....The question remains is....will tomorrow be a catastrophic failure??? It could be in the range of -3% if the CB's get their itch scratched.....

The ECB and the BOE don't meet till Thursday.
Its been thursday, didn't get that drop....the CB's are showing a major event next Wed, if it trends as other events that have happened in the last two weeks it bodes a bad day ahead......late afternoon market pump ups are raising my eyebrows over here.....monkeys are hiding their heads expecting the worse.....but its really UCALLIT kind of a deal.....markets down, but is it really down and just not taken a temporary rest......on the way down.....economics support poor corporate profits from everyone except the oil cartels.....everyone else is looking at the food budget and starting to think about growing their own food.....homes going on foreclosure, lives ruined .......no breaks except oh yeah, gas prices are coming down because refiners have finally fix their problems....

There's still time to catch the next down elevator into the coal mine. I actually think the nonsense has passed and the next move will be a rocket blast.

It seems of late that when the market does go up, it isn't enough to satisfy that tell tale sign that we will continue to grow.....so where does that put it......sideways or down.....:worried:

Carnac

One rocket blast, coming up.
Hope your ticket says one way.....

Thinking about the last time the SP500 went for the 40 day moving average on Aug 8th it failed to cross it to the higher side, got rejected.....been under the 21 also for a while, both are around 1500 and usually if you have a crossover to the low side like that with a failure to recross to the high side the market will make a sucking sound for a while....in the mean time, all those rockets will just go off for a day or two and then they fall with a vengence.....maybe it will attempt another try at 1500 and stay up......but we have to have some good economic news to do it.......

What do you think about the PPI and CPI coming up next week?
Hey Nnutt,

Don't I remember the last report as virtually nil.....but with vengence coming.....the market kinda shrugged it off.....I do know that the CB's would have preferred a harder down day today, just for Mondays sake.....it seems to me that the carnage of this week has been rather powerful, the most powerful for several years.....that speaks volumes.....the F fund seems prone for a bump for the next several days

This one they have to admit high costs.....CPI has been high, food globally has gone up 23%....fuel of course stays up.....seems to me alot of grubby hands going in on some of the most important items....its why we're here today.

Funny, what would happen if they regulated the market increases on the most important economic items at an average growth rate....you can't tell me they can't do that, there is so much data available to build a model....sure you could let it go a bit, but stay close to the model built over time......sure would knock the hell out of instability in the world economic engine......do other important commodities too...it just makes sense. Sure would provide a stable environment for farmers.....wood industry.....metals.....and so forth.....anything that is dependent on by others could be included. Don't get me wrong, I'm not suggesting to go socialist....but some regulation could be helpful....

How about we try this, you lost me, which is easy to do!:worried:

1. will the PPI and/or CPI be over or below estimates?
2. Will you be in stocks on these days?

I don't focus on over or under, only if its high or low.....it should be high given food and gas prices over the past month.....

No, and I wouldn't be normally at this time, unless something else shows up that will aid the situation...as always, I'm always looking for an entry......but....I'd like for this coming week to pass before I commit and jump all in, seeing how the market has been dropping lately on these event dates of mine.......I haven't been in for about two weeks, very unstable as the CB's see it.............it ain't worth the risk.....1410 on the SP500 is very likely.....

I have to admit, there have been some nice gains though....and I missed them even though the data says "lets GO Trigger", but I have been holding the reins a bit.....and saying "WHOA Trigger"

Have U been fairing well over the last several weeks Nnutt???

Carnac

Thanks for the excellent response. I'm still here, trying to get my money back though!! Had some gains this week, must have gotten lucky? Just trying to figure out what to do next week. This thing is going to turn around, when I'm not sure just watching the charts, news, and all the info we get on the Board that's about all I can do. Wish I had more wine!!:D
