Bull Pen - June 2006

With so much movement today, I spent lunch doing the money flow -

26 moves (a new record?)

67.31% G
8.85% F
4.35% C
5.85% S
13.65% I

Which is about 3/4 capital preservation to 1/4 stocks.

Agree or disagree? I would really like to get some opinions on this -

Griffin,

Here is my opinion and this is what I’d noticed: This site allows the best of the best (Top Gun) to express their true expressions because their money are on the line. Everyone else here has gained benefit from it.

Look at those top ranking folks who made moves out of stock funds today. (I am just a copy cat, so I don’t count). If they allocated into G fund, the rest of us should pay attention to it. I think something is about to happen. We will see …

BTW Tom, since I joined your site at the end of last year, my YTD returns has exceeded the SP500 with a good margin. It has not been that way before I joined. Thanks again.

Interesting MADDOG. Have you been able to decipher if this group is a smart or dumb money indicator? :)

I'm going to have to start charging those of you who do the opposite of what I do. :D

When my TSP balance becomes the "Monster Account" status, I will send in my contribution. But until then ... let me work on it.

You know what, I don't even know how to drag the smiling icon to the end of the sentence...

If your editor is set right, you should be able to just click on the smiling icon and it will go wherever your cursor is. The other thing is to just type in the code.

":"")" = :)
":""D" = :D

- Just remove the quotes and use the two characters. I had to use the quotes or you would have seen the icons instead

SNoooRT ! ! !

Gut tells me next pullback on S&P won't happen until we top 1325 or more.

I think its up from here.

(And "S" is looking particularly good to me right now...)

SNOOORRRT ! ! !

Ocean, I'm glad to hear you have benefited. Being a copy cat counts....when I get indecisive, I often look at what Fundsurfer, Dave M, Wheels, Milk Man, Show me and others are doing. in my mind, that's the whole point of the site.

If we then get the usual options expiration sell off, Friday (or soon there after will be the buy in). I expect these wedges to break to the up side. Forming a nice cup, which of course leads to an opportunity to play the handle. But other then a few plays during future options expiration weeks, a buy and hold strategy would be the way to play it.

That is something I said in post #171 in this thread, also look at #170 - the charts say it all. I think a lot of people are seeing the same thing I am (I would never presume to think that anybody actually listens to me - although I did get a lot of attention back in May when I held the #1 slot - everybody likes a winner :D and everybody likes to point out when a winner screws up too! )

Expect to see a big move back in on Friday and Monday.

Abbey Joseph Cohen of Goldman Sachs said today that stock prices should be 15% higher than today. The SPX should move from 1290 to 1483. She believes the driver to move stocks higher will be increased capital spending and export sales. If you fear the BULL - please stay warm in the G fund.

OK, here is my secret... Here is the list of names that I follow (it is called Ocean's list):

Fundsurfer, Sugar, Wheels, Wizard of Oz, Showme, Dave M, Griffin, Fivetears, Nnuut, mlkman, Gilligan, Birchtree, ebbnflow, pointman, Spaf, Tech and TSPtalk. From their recently talks, activities and allocations, I derive my own allocation and becomes the "Ocean's pick". The result is remarkable well. My unofficial YTD returns till August 11 was 11.92%. (There was a period of 6 - 7 weeks which I did not post - sometime began in April).

I owe these folks quite a lot. Since I had no normal training on investing, and I'd tried my best to achieve what I wanted and I have no regrets at all with what I've done. (wow - sounds like William Hung from American Idol). I don't need fame but I need enough money for my retirement. And hope we all can be benefited from each other. Thanks again.

ocean;

and i thought i was being crafty;
by watching these same indivuduals
you have 5 more on your list, than i.
however; i do monitor 50 total;
smart money or dumb money
IT'S STILL MONEY

MD

Maddog,

50 is rather a hugh list for me to handle. I will leave the Hawaii 50 for you. Hope we'll make good returns.

I watch much in the same manner, but like Show-Me says... "Credits all yours, you made the choice to do the IFT."

I'm spinning an unofficial 12.37% as of yesterday, due to 'Talk post failures on my part. I catagorize myself as neither Bull, nor Bear; I'm just a Profiteer. Oh well, I enjoy it all... :)

Enjoy your day. :D

Fivetears, 12.37% is really a real good number. By observing from the Tracker Excel spreadsheet with your allocation patterns, looks like you are a patient person and know exactly when to bite and when to retrieve. Good for you.
