Still have half my money in L2050, half in G. Thinking about putting more in here to catch the dip in this bull charge.
 
Woke up sick as a dog today. But the whole city's closed for the Return of the Ice-pocalypse. So I have today off to sit around sickly, work on some college work, and hope my fund goes in the right direction.
 
I'm thinking about moving out of L2050 and into just C, S and F. I don't like the exposure to the unpredictable I fund. Thoughts?
 
If you like L2050 you can always manually match those allocations yourself in the 5 Funds and rebalance it yourself periodically. The beauty of doing that is you can always avoid a Fund you dont like, such as the I Fund, and move that allocation someplace else, such as C and/or S.

You may also want to check out the LifeCycle type funds offered by Vanguard, Fidelity,T. Rowe Price, etc., to see what their allocations of funds are and then come
up with the allocation that fits your risk tolerance and time spans.. Kiplinger.com has good articles on analysis of various funds too..

You are right to stay away from that stinky, smelly, worthless I fund - don't stray from the herd. You can count the folks heavy in the I fund on your fingers - certainly proof they don't have a clue. (pun intended)
 
have been in it deep for a long time and continue to buy in biweekly. just waiting for it to have its day, and when it does WHEWWWWW...

I think everything is unpredictable. The I find has helped minimize my loss when the others were down. Not always but sometimes.
 
Thinking about buying this dip by reallocating from L2050 to mostly S, with maybe a little C and I.
 
Friend of mine did 30 C 40 S 30 I, last year and made I believe made around 28%. So if you're looking to diversify among funds without holding in bonds, that isn't a bad idea.

If you like the risk investing in the I fund really isn't a bad idea right now. The problem with the I fund is it has all of the right conditions to explode naturally upwards, but the Ukraine crisis is tampering with that. History favors the bold though, and I do believe there one way to beat the market is in the I fund this year.
 
Can't log in to Autotracker from work, but I just IFT'd from 100% L2050 to 50% S / 25% C / 25% I.

I had most of my chips in before, now they are all in.
 
Ended up finishing my Financial Accounting course with a grade of 100.57% somehow. I had a 94 going into the final, and then scored I think around 85 on the final exam. The professor must have put a nice curve on either the final or the whole course. No complaints here! 1 class away from finishing my Associate's. I'll either do it early summer, or early fall, depending on deployments. After that I'll do CLEPs to knock out my whole junior year and half of senior year.

Switching topics.. Anyone here homebrew their own beer? My wife got me a Mr. Beer kit over the holidays and I've been hooked! I'm using a slice of my tax return to upgrade to a 5 gallon setup. My 3rd batch is fermenting right now.
 
i have homebrewed 3 batches of beer and have a kit to do 1 now when i get settled at new place. i do the 5 gallon type and its fun to do. it takes about 4 hours to prep, cook, and then let ferment for several weeks before bottling. the bottling takes about 4 hours also and is good to have wifey to fill bottles and i cap. kits vary in cost and you get every thing you need to cook it. go ahead and get your kit you will love it. i wanna do a few more before doing some wine in a similiar fashion. it makes about 2 cases so for around $30-$50 bucks you get the beer of your choice. i misread your comments and did not know if you were doing 5 gallon now , but this may persuade others. brew onnnn.

Sorry, I meant to say that I'm fermenting my 3rd batch using the Mr. Beer kit now. It puts out about 2 gallons. I'm ordering a new 5 gallon kit this weekend. I think I've settled on going through Northern Brewer. I compared kits from all the big name homebrew shops. NB came out on top. I told the wife I'm gonna turn the garage into a Breaking Bad chemistry lab. She didn't like the sound of that.
 
NB is who i use. But i'm getting ready to move to wilmington ,nc and they have a couple of beer brew shops where you can buy all your stuff there. sooooo i will check them out also. happy brewing
