Bitcoin

Me too. I got $543 and $541. I see a gap near $475 that look like a good reentry point.

Still holding GAHC.

I bought back in today at $543. Got to thinking about all the money coming out of this market and where it's gonna go in the next few weeks. I wanted to be long GBTC this weekend. :D

Nice hotwings. I hope we get a chance. The trend seems pretty solid at the moment. Maybe $290?

That darn GBTC keeps going up since I sold. But we know this stuff is very volatile so I need patience.

I hear you... I sold all my BTC on 31 Jul around $2900 and look what it has done :} I'll patiently wait for a pullback which will come.

GBTC hit $600 today  and GAHC is up 13% on the day.

My fear now for btc is (since I'm out), anyone who may have been concerned about the fork, has probably already sold. Now everyone's waiting for a pullback to buy, so we'll wait, and wait, and...

Ether hit $290 last night where I was planning on buying but I didn't have a limit order in and missed it. At least it's not running away like btc.

My only holding now is GAHC but no major holding (60K shares which is only about $1600 worth.)

Way to go Vintage! But be careful. The gaps seem to get filled here, like most charts...

BTC is now $3800! ETH at $318. BTC is all time high. ETH is quite a ways away yet.

Does this mean BCH (the new bitcoin) isn't going to make it? or will they both be around?

Bitcoin hit $4300 today. GBTC closed at $740. Just amazing.

CNBC's Fast Money is having a "Bitcoin Week" this week. Does that sound like a red flag?

Goldman Sachs says bitcoin may rise about $500 more, before losing half its value
https://www.cnbc.com/2017/08/14/goldman-sachs-says-bitcoin-may-rise-about-500-more.html

  • "Goldman Sachs' chart analyst Sheba Jafari said in a Sunday report that bitcoin could reach $4,827, about $500 more than Monday's record high above $4,300.
  • Once bitcoin hits that level, Jafari estimates it could drop as far as $2,221.
  • That said, bitcoin will need to fall under $2,935 "to signal that a top is already in place," the report said.

After calling latest surge above $4,000, Standpoint's Ronnie Moas raises bitcoin forecast to $7,500
https://www.cnbc.com/2017/08/14/standpoints-ronnie-moas-raises-bitcoin-price-target-to-7500.html

  • "The stock researcher issued a $5,000 price target on bitcoin in late July, and raised that by $2,500 on Monday after the digital currency's surge to a record high over the weekend.
  • Moas expects the market value of digital currencies to jump from around $140 billion to $2 trillion, and bitcoin to rise alongside that increase.
  • Moas said he never held any of the stocks he issued reports on, but now all of his investments are in digital currencies."

Bitcoin Cash is quietly coming back. It's almost tripled in the last 2 weeks.

I'm still trying to figure out where to sell it. Coinbase doesn't process it yet.

Cash is useless in Venezuela thanks to hyperinflation — so people are turning to bitcoin
https://www.cnbc.com/2017/08/24/bit...r-in-venezuela-because-of-hyperinflation.html

  • To survive Venezuela's hyperinflation, many have taken to mining bitcoin to afford basic necessities, according to the Atlantic
  • It is also made affordable due to the low cost of power in the country's heavily-subsidized electricity market
  • Bitcoin miners can make as much as $500 a month, which is enough to afford things such as baby diapers and insulin from overseas

So you plan on selling bch and keeping btc?

Eventually (sell bch). I'm still pretty active trading btc and ether, and just holding that bch to either eventually spend, or until coinbase starts processing it.

I guess I can find another place that will buy the bch, but I'm not that motivated to do so, and it forces me to be a buy and holder for once. :)
