Birchtree's Account Talk

Well I still send my wife to work everyday, I use coupons at the grocery and I do my own yard work. When I hit the $4M I'll be more comfortable. And as long as I continue to invest with my long term strategy I'll make more money. The rich get richer because they continue to do things that make them rich. When I hit the $3M I'm forcing my wife to terminate her employment. She has a defined contribution retirement plan that will be making $27K a point going forward. Then the big adventure begins.

I always said the rich get rich and stay rich by penny pinching. I've never met a rich person that doesn't account for every penny. Not saying they are stingy;) Just saying they are frugal. There are many very generous rich people.

Well it seems that recent buyers of gold and silver ETFs stepped into a bull trap. This could be some final capitulation on the close. We could get a nice surprise on the NFP number tomorrow to the upside - otherwise the Fed will start leaning toward a QE3.

I'm ready for my afternoon nap - perhaps Mindylou will join me. Margin requirements are killing the silver trade - so be it. This consolidation is cleansing the market for a healthier summer trading event. Keep those sticky pants on - wait this silliness out. Actually this is quite fun - it's never fun to bleed alone. And the street is turning red.

Remember that antiseptic spray for kids that came out in the 80's? - It cleaned wounds AND made the pain go away?
Birch, you're ouchie spray for TSP Talk....keep us all optimistic buddy so noone passes out!

Finally the bull has returned to the arena - I need to make $100K today to ease my pain level. Now let's watch the buying panic set in with the hedge funds realizing they moved too soon to take those profits. They're only helping the budget deficit when taking fear profits. It's going to be interesting now that confidence is returning to the risk on trade.

How much money do you have in the market where you hope to make $100K in one day?

My oceanic account has $4.2M working for me - I just gave back $203K in 4 days of this consolidation - and I'm looking for some come back. The best way to read how much money there is for investment in the stock market is the A/D line. My TSP account is known as my tugboat and is a separate account.

Wow. You must be doing something right.

I did something right in the fall of 2008 against all sanity. It's always darkest before the dawn. It was dark out there - real dark. And yet, we should have all bought more. And now I will chase the bull until we reach Dow 16,875 or perhaps 20,000 - buying as many wall flowers as I can. The more you have in the more you can win.

I don't mind buying high but I never like to sell unless it's a sacrifice. For example if this consolidation were to turn into something deeper I contemplated selling my ANF to raise cash to buy more sweet wall flowers. I'm going to try and hold out on selling anything until the capital gains tax is reduced to 0% - how long will that take.

I would like for you to make as much money as possible because I'm going to make mine. Will I catch you - most certainly. There are many trading days left in the month of May and they could be real rewarding for the brave at heart. Just remember the A/D line made new all time highs just last week - this pause to refresh is ending and the bull will stampede with a strong parabolic move to SPX 1400.
