Birchtree's Account Talk

If I can get a real good day tomorrow with small caps leading I could potentially buy stocks all next week. I have 27 purchases remaining on my current list. Since 7/31/2010 I've made 583 individual purchases with no end in sight. It's time to buy more building related stocks.

You avoid a bull trap by doing a JTH and seek shelter. Thus leaving hefty gains on the table. I don't think this is the future so I'm staying fully invested - more risk for me in being out than staying in. I plan to buy all the way up until I get dizzy. I'm hoping we don't correct this secular bull market as we move higher. Time in the market can be more rewarding than timing the market.

tom1tom1,

The challenge has been issued - we've played this race before. I'm up for it. Now I have to find out why GT is hot today. By the way, sitting in bonds means I'm going to blow your doors off real soon.

Will the secular bull market be correcting the strong rally that commenced in March 2009, before moving higher? We already had that correction to the tune of 16% - no more of that depth is anticipated. It's safe to open the flood gates. Another 4 dividend increases announced today - pennies from heaven.

I'm buying some wall flowers early today before they get more expensive: LII, RPM, JNY, PBY, HOS, CR. Let's smoke'em today with another triple digit Dow gain.

I think I've found my epitaph. It's always darkest before the dawn. It was dark out there - real dark. And yet, we should have all bought more. I bought all I could possibly buy and I'm still doing it. If you are a believer that earnings are sustainable, stocks certainly do not look expensive yet. C'mon Goodyear you can do +3 points.

Here is what my oceanic accomplished this week: -$10K, +$41K, +$10K, +$7K, +$25K for a total gain of +$73K. I did pick up some more flower power that will be spent Monday. All I need now is to make $24K and I'll make my $2M from the March '09 lows in 113 weeks. The next $M will come in 40 weeks.

The Tax Man cometh.

I'm taxed only if I declare a profit and then taxed at 15% as a long term capital gain. I'm trying not to take any profits until later in the year. My dividends will also be taxed at 15%.

Congrats, MTD #27, pretty good for a gardener. If the markets go your way I can see me below the bottom 50 and you in the top 20. I see some folks have shifted to the sidelines out of fear. I hate to see people get caught up in the day-today details of what these markets are doing. I find I'm enjoying time outside puffing on my cigars by the pool, and tending to the garden. Life is good when you learn to enjoy what you have....
