Birchtree's Account Talk

My HRL (Hormel) announces a 2 for 1 stock split - I'll gladly take it and fully expect many more companies to offer stock splits as the year progresses. Today should be a nice money day. Sorry for all those on the platform when the train goes by.

I like their chili, not bad for canned stuff. :D

Yeah you guys that hung in there are due the recovery that how it usually happens - not always but usually. Enjoy!

"Stocks are poised to outperform gold going forward."

The VIX at 17.76 -1.77 fell through the 18 level like it wasn't there, as I suspected.

The good folks at BP had a 30% profit and have reestablished their dividend at half the previous rate. However, I had to call my daughter in Texas City to tell her that they are planning on selling the Texas City refinery. She is a program manager there helping them work on safety issues - her contract will probably be safe but many BP people will have to switch their retirement plans to the acquiring company - something to watch. I suspect a chemical company will make the purchase.

It is a good day to be invested in equities

What a pretty gray she is. I just went over the hump to start building buying power - so if we gain further or hold here I'm back to buying tomorrow. It is a good day to be a bull. They are saying that the ISM Manufacturing index at 60.8 is the best since 2004 and is booming. The fundamentals are driving this bull market and that is healthy for higher highs. We are obviously in an ultra bullish 3 of 3 of 3 mode and are headed back to SPX 1565.15 perhaps before summer ends. And QE2 will push the Dow to 15,000 before summer ends.

Hey Birch... do you think we will see that 5%-%10 correction in the next 30 days or so? Looking to put 25% of my TSP back to work in C or S

I don't think I'd plan any strategy based on probable consolidations - they can happen at any time for really no reason aside from some fools taking profits. I'm playing the 1995 game where the market didn't even see a minor consolidation in all of 1995. The longer you wait to get on the train the more potential you'll leave at the station. If you are not familiar with bull markets they have a tendency to make heads spin. As my friend Nnuut would say - stay long and strong. Don't worry about a little pain - pain is good just like greed.

Gosh Birch -- this is crazy !!!!

The MARKETS look like a plane taking off --- still going up - up - up.

Shoot I'm not doing any kind of 'work' -- all I did was put everything in I Fund for over 8% gain and now S/I this year ....

....and I'm making more than my job pays me.

This is actually my favorite part of MARKETS -- I like this way over 3/09 -- cause like this is the 'real Mc Coy' ---

Damn --- I might just live off 'interest' some day

Thanks...I certainly felt the pain in 2003, 2008-09 and DCA in all my contributions the way back from the bottoms. Since I have never been a good market timer, I pretty much stay long and strong. Folks like you and others on this board certainly help get a feel for the market direction.

Once you start making money reminds me of the great shakes - once they start you can't stop'em. I may need to buy a bigger pair of sticky pants with deep cargo pockets to hold my gains.

I said yesterday that if the Dow went up +166 that I would crap nickles - get your pails ready because I think that is where we are heading.

Judging from the looks of things:

A. Nobody cares about Egypt.

B. This Norfolk-Southern 3 engine is hammer down and even considering the lilypad this year will cost you.

C. It may be time to consider using the Sentiment Survey for entries on C and I.

My feeling is that if this buying momentum continues for the next two weeks we might be setting up for a blowoff top close to SPX 1400 - but then again we can remain overbought for a long time as long as liquidity continues to flow. Watch for that VIX level below 14.66 penetrating the 50 day lower Boillinger band - then I might get nervous. Until then I'm just having fun playing in the bull arena. Snort.

Anthing can happen, turning 1300 into support would be a nice first step. I'd like to see a 1330 without overbought indicators.

It might be snowing in other places but here in Florida my peach tree is blooming and my tomatoes are in flower. I'll be planting some corn by the weekend along with bush beans and carrots. I carried my tomatoes through the winter by covering them and now they are enjoying the warmth of sunny days and cool nights.

I wish we were getting snow. 1/2" of ice so far 20 mi south of Indianapolis and calling for another 1" tonite and then 2-4" snow with 30 mph wind. Power still on, but could be out for several days when the wind hits the ice covered trees. At least the S fund is coming back nicely. :)

Brought my flag in. Calling for winds 30-40 with freezing rain and ice. Do not want to damage another flag pole.

Birch, I double checked this:

You made over $122.14 today.

That's over One Hundred Twenty Two DOLLARS and Fourteen CENTS.

Good Job !!!! :cool::cool::)

You were very close and only off by one day and one dollar. I've made $123K in two days and have high hopes for more this week - I'd like to conquer my first ever $200K week. Now that I've earned buying power I'll be back in the market tomorrow doing my part to help push the bulls higher and chase this momentum. I'm not embarrased to say I'm not waiting for any entry points - I just want to buy wall flowers.
