Birchtree's Account Talk

Bring on some more crashes!!!!

Everybody (50 million Frenchmen) always over reacts and that reaction may have precipated even further damage in the most recent correction. Lots of agendas to make a market. We have bottomed recently and will more than likely(sometimes one has to hedge) will move up now strongly, catching many players off guard.

Thr majority stll believe the Fed will continue to increase rates the later part of June and continue forward even more until they reach 4% by the end of this yea

As an official card carrying contrarian as myself, I will have none of this silly stuff. There are so many reasons to be bullish. .

Your pick on the market short term bottom, I believe is correct. But your take on the interest rate sentiment (people think it will go up), is not; most people think exactly what you do - that interest rates are going NO WHERE. The primary reasons for this are low inflation and, relatedly, high unemployment - which puts downward pressure on wages and consequential consumption.

Accordingly, what you think - about bullishness, and minimal interest movement - is in the majority. Contrarians are in a clear minority thinking, like I was, last year. And it didn't work. For some darn reason I make best returns when everyone else loses and can't make a dime when the market goes straight up for months straight. You don't seem to IFT as a contrarian; more a permabull than anything else.

Oh well. Now that we have had a monstrous down month, I'm up 1% and you're down 5%. Bring on those crashes. Works for me!!!

My oceanic gains for the last three days looks like this: $159K, $244, $80K. So any small gain today would be most appreciated - trying to get back my devaluation of $278K from last week. When I get my full $397K back I'll be ready to do more buying to meet my purchasing goal for the year from June 26th.

Yes, Mindylou is my cat (gato). She is also my investment adviser. She is actually the wife's love and I'm just the slave - but as long as she continues to help me make money I'll do what ever she desires.

I see. So hows that work does el Gato meow twice for Yes and once for No...or is there a secert to reading signs in the litter box? (you know like reading tea leaves)

Mindylou likes to use pencil and paper to communicate her investment strategies. Now I have to teach her to use a spoon to eat at the table and eventually piano lessons. She tried using the computer but has a tendency to pull out the keys so now just sleeps behind my Toshiba when I'm working.

The VIX at 24.63 down 0.89 may be sending a signal for a strong rally sometime today. The TA guys have to be going nuuts with all this whipsaw. Time in the market can often times be more rewarding than timing the markets.

Its a.pretty name, Mindylou. I may borrow it. I was looking to name my station wagon with a female momiker

gawd. you never know what your posting may spawn. .. heh. And hey a station wagon is very useful and comfortable ride. I will try to post a picture later. my wagon is quite nice and usually the best looking vehicle in any grocery store parking lot. around here anyway b/c they dont wash often.

Spouse has not named either vehicle or his pistol. (Yeah, he has a CWP too. Too many years of having to carry an off-duty weapon I guess.) But he has named his GPS. He calls it Lucy, after the Beatles song, because it takes us on trips!

I'm going to go mow my yard and ignore the nonsense of today - I'm just glad I don't own the S fund. Although my oceanic will feel the heat we can absorb it.

As of 0821 PST the 'S Fund' is the fund to be in:nuts:

Yuk...

This market makes my dental cleaning (hopefully not a scaling) and doctor's appointment a true joy. I mean, you can't fret the market when someone is drilling on your head - or, probing your ears and other orifices:D
