Birchtree's Account Talk

Re: Birchtree's account talk

Here I am still chasing prices. Bought today: BZH, CSE, CIT, SNV, DHI, AGO, CNB, GM. This is a tremendous buying opportunity in the markets because of the forced selling and liquidation in the hedge community. It's now or never - come hold me tight.

Re: Birchtree's account talk

This voter is being offered the opportunity for racial innocence and deliverance from the shames of my forbearers..........

WOW! What insight. Where did you steal the line? Here?

Because he is black, there is a sense that profound questions stand to be resolved in the unfolding of his political destiny. And, as the Clintons have discovered, it is hard in the real world to run against a candidate of destiny. For many Americans -- black and white -- Barack Obama is simply too good (and too rare) an opportunity to pass up. For whites, here is the opportunity to document their deliverance from the shames of their forbearers. And for blacks, here is the chance to document the end of inferiority. So the Clintons have found themselves running more against America's very highest possibilities than against a man. And the press, normally happy to dispel every political pretension, has all but quivered before Mr. Obama. They, too, have feared being on the wrong side of destiny.

Re: Birchtree's account talk

Yes, Digger is so salient and fatuous and totes her own pillow when she stays over. She does demonstrate that she can be purile but I really don't mind. I enjoy the attention.

Re: Birchtree's account talk

The other day I posted a link to Kiplinger in which it was stated "the stock market generally turns up about six months before the economy does". I would suspect that that sentence would be public domain and I would not be expected to ibid it every time I may choose to repeat it because I'm sure it's been used many times before Kiplinger used it. I'm trying to use a common sense approach to anything I post. For example; "It's been almost 21 years since the current level of fear prevailed in U.S. financial markets" is another factoid that should be construed as also public domain. If I were writing an english paper for class that would be a different situation - but this is just basic investing information that I wish to share with our microcosm of members - for all I really know Digger is the only member that pays any attention to what I post. So when I say "deliverance from the shames of my forebearers" is a classic line in my opinion why should I have to ibid it when used. That's like saying "Tara there will be a tomorrow" and having to ibid Gone With the Wind. Snort.

Re: Birchtree's account talk

Whether you like it or not, plagiarizing other sites exposes both Tom and this site to a litigation risk. It’s not about you Birch--regardless of how much the role of martyr you want to play. It’s about everyone else.

Re: Birchtree's account talk

Thank you most kindly for your input....I'm sure you have the best intentions. As far as plagiarizing goes that article was written six months ago so how am I to remember everything that is floating around in my head - it's time for common sense. Every time I mention a lyric from a pop song I should give credit even if I'm not selling anything or making a profit off those lyrics. Sounds abundantly silly - will Bod Dylan bring litigation against this venerable site. "I'm on the road again" by Canned Heat. "Baby don't do me like that" by the Funk Brothers. Every time I open my mouth I'll have to ibid somebody because original thoughts of any meaning are hard to come by in the investment arena - everything is based on history unless one functions on pure momentum emotion.

Dont worry about it. I will leave you be to falsely represent yourself. Who cares who really said it, right Birch. I have vowed to the "Big Brothers" here to stop. Plag on dude.

Re: Birchtree's account talk

Hey Birch,
Ever since you went on and on about the "Negative" reputation comments in the format of "Positive" comments...

I occasionally check my own and get a few here and there.

But mine are cool and so I'm cool with it. Anyway, I don't see how to do that...all I can do is give the "Star Rating".

The other thing I've never been able to figure out is how others are able to get multiple quotes in one post.

Re: Birchtree's account talk

Negative reputation points can only be given by moderators - and no one has yet to date owned up to the criticisms - that's what made me suspicious and question the fairness. Apparently I initially blamed the wrong moderator - so life goes on. My big fault was saying what the DNC stood for - the Democratic Negro Caucus. I'm obviously a repeat offender with multiple recidivisms.

Steady raises a question that I'd appreciate an answer for as well. :embarrest: Can someone post the "TSPTalk for Dummies" step by step for including multi-quotes in a post? TIA! :o

Re: Birchtree's account talk

That's cool and I'm not hung up on that... but THANKS!!

What I'm asking is, "How do I give Positive Reputation Points and Comments to others"?

If others are doing this to me - I should have some way of doing this for others.

Then the other thing is, "How do you get more than one quote (from your Thread) to show up on a post"?

Woops...hi Lady; Listen I wetted my lips and did the breathing and all...but if you want me to do the other stuff then you have to promise you'll do everything possible to stay just the way you are.

Reputation is give on individual posts and is the icon on the upper right of the individual post the look like a old balance scale. Click on it and you can write something and select if you approve or disapprove of the post.

Multiple quote is done on individual post and is the icon to the right of the "quote" icon. If you are in a thread that you want to do multiple quotes in click the "multiple quote" icon and then on the last quote click the "quote" icon.

Scroll your mouse pointer over the icons, hold it steady there for a few seconds and a small window telling you what it is will come up.

Re: Birchtree's account talk

We are the teenybopper party. No matter what race or gender, Obama's base is voters under the age of 35. Look at the crowds in McCain's ad, carefully, they aren't all black. They're GenY. Paris was right, McCain's an old geezer. It's the demographics. Palin wins the vote for women above the age of 45. Obama below 35 (Those of us between the two ages are too close to count) Same thing is happening in VA, +45K new voters, most under the age of 35, of all races, mostly signing up Democratic. Those are the ones that are making VA a swing state. So that's the real divide. Look at the crowds. .
So what you should be accusing Obama's base of is *age* discrimination.:toung:

Re: Birchtree's account talk

I think someone is trying to pay me back for giving you a hard time at times there Birchtree all in fun on my part though.

I was hanging a portrait of my dog in my house which has cathedral ceilings and I fell backwards off a ladder about 10 feet onto a highly polished wood floor and knocked myself out.

Long story short I go to the emergency room had a CAT scan, MRI which showed some lumbar damage. Also having sciatica (SP?) problems and left side bulging disc issues and pinched nerves so complete bed rest .

They gave me steroids, a medication I never took before called dilaudid which sent me into LALA land and something called versed - I'm not sure of the spelling but it is something of a muscle relaxer along with some other meds along the way.

No more jokes at your expense because I think someone didn't appreciate it even though it's all in good fun. ;)

I tell you what those painkillers are killers because you can barely function at all but at least no spinal cord damage and hopefully no needed surgeries in my future. They even prescribed these dilaudid pills to take at home with anti nauseau medication but that medication is so strong I can't believe it so I using that very sparingly. I can't believe they can prescribe medication like that. It has to be classifed on some med list and used very sparingly. They gave me 30 pills which suprise me but I will probably just end up throwing them out. I believe it's synthetic heroin or something comparable if I'm not mistaken - or so I was told.

I think you do back work so you probably are familiar with these meds.

Boy did that fall hurt. My ol' man would have gotten up and kept going but I'M "allergic" to pain.
