Birchtree's Account Talk

Re: Birchtree's account talk

Pretty sure no matter what Obama says, the reality of the situation in Iraq is that our military forces will be there for quite some time in one form or another.

I chalk his comments up to pandering to the left-leaning pander bears.
Only if we pay for it and stop the off-budget nonsense. The real cost needs to be shared.

Re: Birchtree's account talk

As a matter of fact the Iraqi government has such a strong budget surplus that they can pay for our armed forces to provide them continuing security. Nothing wrong with them finally stepping up.

That assumes Iraq's Parliment can agree that they want us to stay and pay for it. I kinda doubt that though, especially since the Kurds have the most oil in their area, and they have been doing fine without us for a while now. Even if the majority wants us to stay (I'm not sure if that's the case) they have problems agreeing on anything.

Re: Birchtree's account talk

Hey Birchtree, hope it is going well for your tugboat and oceanic accounts. I've been fairly sanguine overall and have done okay so no complaints.

It's funny - I talked to Palm Beach Motors and they only sell Aston Martins (DBS) in their own location - Florida- so I had to use my Key Biscayne rental property with my very unused Florida drivers' permit to purchase a demo

Trim:Obsidian Black leather interior (whatever that means)
Type DBS
Mileage:56mi
Color:Lightning Silver
Transmission:manual
MSRP:$268,040
Year:2009

They gave me a little runaround saying they had to show it to prospective clients even though they got my committment money telling me it was for a future car. I told them I would pay cash and I have never heard the aston martin "expert" get on the phone so quick to close the deal.

Even with high end cars you can't escape the morons.

As a side note it is great not having to deal with the TSP bullshit not that I'm impacted anymore but a lot of people to it up the you know what from you know who. No sense in stirring the pot when everything is set is stone so it would seem.
Just for sh$ts and giggles before my relatives' tsp was closed out they posted 7 that's right seven ift changes on the same day all 100% in the G fund. When notified of their error (in Maryland) they said they would pass it upstairs and it should be recitified in 3 to 5 business days. Needless to say it was never corrected. No reflection of the fine people on this website this level of incomptence is mindboggling - as to where this goes is anyone's guess but in all my years I have never seen ANY level of imcompetence in dealing with what could be more important than retirement money. The 7 ift's were posted on May 1 and just for the hell of it with the few bucks left in the account I tried to do an IFT but was told I had already done 2 and could only go back to the G fund. I really am at a loss for who is taking care of government worker's monies with absolutely no recourse and if Obama gets in you do know that your take home pay with be about 20% less. It just goes on and on.

:confused:As a follow up I glad I am completely out of this horsesh!t and dealing with at least some people that have an idea of what is going on. If that Ift crap went on - 7 in one day and was not rectified someone would be looking for a new job.

What's wrong with this picture????

And with all due respect your oceanic account is going to fund your pal and mine - Mr. Hussein Obama because he can't wait to redistribute the weath. Imagine a democratic President and democrat Congress - just thing Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid making decisions for you because I can't because of the disatorous possibilites. Plan accordingly and keep you powder dry.

Best

I swear to God Costa Rica here I come. That's Mr expatriate to you

Wow that would be wonderful - then maybe we wouldn't have to spend an extra $30,000 over what most people pay to have a car with the looks like you've posted.

Just think Birch - 20% less take home pay - would still keep us in the top 5% and would also mean less taxes to pay.

When you've got at least $2.5 M in assets already - what difference does it make? There is no way possible any President can stop us from finding the 31 stocks you recently found - or keeping the Oceanic accounts and playing the "winning game".

Anyway - unless someone else can guarantee that they can take more than 20% I know where my vote is going.

Re: Birchtree's account talk

Birch,
I was a little disappointed in you last night. Everyone else was drinking to celebrate the GREATEST VICTORY in the history of the USA. But it looked like you were drinking to get drunk :embarrest:

Anyway - back on your investment question.

Botton Line Technologies would be my pick.

$62,000 x 20% = $12,400

I would invest 20% Max in any stock - so this is it. That gives you the rest to spread any way you want.

This is the best time possible to invest - the price has recently bottomed and will do very well in the long run. By the time he withdraws he will have a 800% Gain minimum.

Wow - Sorry dude, forgot some important info.

Bottomline Technologies NASDAQ: EPAY

It's been making news around the world and getting increasing press. This is one of those times you have to thank your lucky stars that a hard hit economy can really bring some gold mine stocks to a super bargain deal.

Hope you're doing OK Birch - it's not like you to disappear - so when ya do I get a little worried.

Re: Birchtree's account talk

Steadygain,

My dear friend there have been no racial slams or garbage crap mentioned - you are forgetting your manners of etiquette. You are free to disagree and form your own opinions, but that is my opinion. I've never referred to anything you've said as garbage - the last person that referred to my thoughts as garbage soon turned into burnt toast and faded.

Birch I was trying to find your previous post on the Vietnam Vets soon to fade out and be forgotten - which really hit me hard; especially with L2R's post today. I may have thought the war sucked but you know how I feel about the soldiers who did the fighting.

Anyway saw this and feel I need to explain. You and I are the same Birch - we are deeply grounded in what we believe and once we take a stand no one can move us. If anyone tries we simply plant our feet in harder but no one would ever be able to make us budge no matter who they are. Birch I have seen you like a brother for a long time and so I talk straight with you (and I mean no disrespect). If you say something funny - or you say something good - or give some great advice then I respond accordingly. But I always call it as I see it and never hesitate with you because I've always felt I could tell you anything. So my comment here was simply summing up the bulk of your posts on Obama (and I really don't give a rat's ass what you think of him). I'm simply saying the overwhelming bulk tie into him being black - connecting him to most of the abrasive blacks we could think of - or making "race" the primary issue that defines him. So my friend I honestly see all that as garbage. I do respect you Birch - way more than you realize - and I'm not attacking you and in all sincereity I respect the person McCain a great deal.

No reason why we can't have genuine respect for each other no matter who we're voting for.

It all boils down to whether we want the exact same Bush Administration policies to continue for years and years - with the war - the highest government control in US history - and basically the same Supreme Court general trend that oversees everything; or whether we want a genuine change everyone can count on. You see change as a bad thing - I see it as a good thing. You see Obama tearing our country down (and that's cool Birch - I can handle that). I see McCain bringing the rest of the world to the breaking point - where they are too frustrated to deal with the US anymore and subsequently China saying "no more money" - and other countries all celebrating the fact they can refuse to trade with us and watch the entire country go down the drain. So my stand has nothing to do with race or gender - it has to do what I honestly believe is best for this country and the relationship we have with the rest of the world.

I've said it before and I'll say it again: "I love you Birch". You're a bull headed stubborn SOB - you could care less if others except your views and seem to welcome a challenge BUT I'M THE SAME WAY so be cool man - I'm not out to bash you or give you a hard time. But if anyone pushes my button then I'll respond. OK Bro.

Ahhhh, how sweet.
I'll make you 2 a reservation in Calif. for June 17th. In the meantime, maybe get a room, huh?

You are a perfect example of a mindless neophyte no offense. You have no knowledge of me or my funds but you venture a gratuitous opinion. Sad.

No offense but you are the kind of person who things the government can spend your money better than you. That is truely saddest of all.

Of course you are right my friend.

Please except my humble appologies - and no offense is taken what so ever - as you descibed me perfectly.

I'm really impressed.

GOOD ONE!:D

Not sure... I don't believe I would honor those words with a reply, but the beauty of it, is THERE IS STILL FREEDOM OF SPEECH IN THIS COUNTRY, and that applies to the meek, the ARROGANT, the smart ones and then to the rest of them all.

Re: Birchtree's account talk

Who is the closest adviser to Barack Obama? Of course it's Michelle Obama. She is a graduate of Princeton and Harvard Law School. Was it affirmative action that got her there. She has such a grim view of American society. In speeches on the campaign trail she has held forth on her view of America, which is, as she describes it, a country that is downright mean and driven by fear. She recently waxes irate over the American attention to security interests, arguing that we should be changing the conversation and building diplomatic relations instead of protecting ourselves against terrorists. A minor note, to be sure, though it's to be hoped that a President Obama will not turn to this closest adviser for her views on the national defense. According to Mrs. Obama existence in America is a desperate proposition for most citizens - anyone claiming to have led a satisfactory one not sunk in the hell that is American life is, quite simply, lying. America is, she has elsewhere informed audiences, a nation whose souls are broken. Fear the Donkey, because it is a vision striking for its consistent hostility to any notion that Americans have cause for optimism and pride in their country; striking, too, for the stark and obvious absence of any sense of the reasons Americans might revere their nation and consider themselves fortunate to be its citizens.

I spent a couple days in my garden - getting my head straight. I'm now ready for the bull market to resume - be right and sit tight.
