Birchtree's Account Talk

The down part is over, we should higher for a few days although nothing to get excited about. Then the down trend should kick back in.

The down part is over.

You know this for a fact huh!?!? Hmm, you gotta crystal ball er somethin?

Let's see, the middle east has gone to hell in a handbag, major oil producing nations have been overthrown..."OVERTHROWN" SON! kaput, no government, TOAST! Now they face lawlessness/civil war/CHAOS, and get THIS..others will probabely follow..SOON! Now here in the U.S our rag tag team of leaders have extreme views one each side er the other and are doing nothing but fighting/hurling insults/sniping/blaming each other....ALL ThE whiLe, our problems are expanding like a helium balloon bee'n filled up, (states about to default, people in the streets protesting, schools closing down, people getting their "GUNS" READY)

From where I'm standing it looks like things are about to go ..."pOp" , yes sir reeee ...as the chinese say..."May you live in "InTeReStInG"..Times......

Folks...we got BIG problems on the horizon!

BT I'm only a mere 239 slots in the rear, don't let the transition in small caps give me the edge I need to make the gain. If I escape before the next pullback, I have a decent chance at sling-shoting right past you...

Im going to have to side with cwrs on this one. The global situation is volitile did you read Tom's comment pointing out the buying yesterday started when a report came out that Quadaffy had been shot? The next wave of "bad" news could have the opposite effect.

Not that I think someone getting shot is "good" news, mind you!

:D

I count 56 G and F holders ahead of me on the tracker - that's an opportunity to move up. The upcoming carnage will not be pretty. I'm at #78 on the tracker heading for #30.

I'm anxious to do some wall flower shopping only I'm out of money. I could sell something to raise cash but it would only increase in value next week. I'll just have to wait until flower power starts building again - maybe by the end of next week. It's hard holding my greed intact - but I have about 76 dividends due for reinvestment in March so they'll do the heavy lifting for awhile. Patience is a virtue and I'll prove it. Snort.

This could be more than a dead cat bounce - how about a revaluation of the risk on trade. If the Dow can get to up +100 points we could potentially close up +140 points which would go a long way to cancel out the -178 loss on Tuesday. I'm reminded that negative people seldom make money.

Daisy,

You're making good money on HERO today - buy more before it totally explodes and leaves you in a cloud hoof dust. I'll be buying more HOS and RDC next week.

how long do you need to hold onto a stock to obtain it's dividends?
do they mail you a check or they deposit it through your broker?

There is a stock of record date for ownership and can be as long as 30 days before the dividend is paid. I have all my dividends reinvested by my broker at no cost to me. You can have dividends swept into any account on a daily basis or weekly to spend on other things. I'm thinking of mine to buy me a mortgage on my lake place - it's better than working. Many companies are now cash rich and increasing their dividends - it becomes a self-feeding system when you reinvest. My account will produce earnings for generations to come.

It's so nice to have my own investment adviser. Mindylou has been busy again working up my next flower power buy list for action next week. She saves me the expense of a premium service - worth her weight in gold and cat food. She has listed 23 so far that need acquiring into the harem. I have a number of roses looking for freedom but not just yet I'm afraid. Their time will arrive from even higher levels.

It was not a pleasant 4 day week for the oceanic account but it could have been worse. Here is what happened: -$112K, -$57K, +$5K, +$77K for a loss of -$87K. That leaves me at + $1723K at week #103 off the March '09 lows. Still working on that $2M goal and I'll have it before the end of March. I wonder if I made any tracker gains.

"Boy, that was a quick 3% pull-back. Guess Tom Demark will have better luck next time. Next up, 1425-1450 on SPX, probably by April."

Whoever made that comment hasnt been studying Demark well if at all, Birch. this week ended on day 3 of a 9-count down on the daily, today included. 6 more to go.

That said, we didn't get an intermediate trend price flip this week on the weekly like I thought we might.

The weekly candle we got is a warning shot, didnt change the intermediate trend. was a warning shot, came right on time after reaching the normal ending high point of a major countdown on the weekly last week, but intermediate trend change isnt confirmed until there is a weekly price flip-we didnt get it-yet.

It's nice to see mom and pop coming back to the market after a 100% run up - why am I not surprised. From TWSJ: "The ferocity of their desire to get back in now doesn't nearly match their desparation to get out (in 2008 and 2009). It's more like a kind of capitulation. First in 2008 and 2009 they suffered until they said I can't take it any more and sold off their stocks. And now they've had to deal with the trauma of watching the market go up and realizing that they'd be better off if only they hadn't gotten out". At least I didn't make that mistake. Negative people never make money. I'm looking for a $40K day today.
