Birchtree's Account Talk

Re: Birchtree's account talk

Ken Fisher says: "The Fed has put a rocket under the market. The SPX will probably exceed 1300 as early as February because the economy continues to rebound from the worst recession since the 1930s. We still have a lot more bull market to go because we had a huge bear market." Can you smell the sweet superlative bull manure wafting up from the barn? Boy, I sure can. The market will continue to anticipate the improvement just over the horizon as the inventory restocking cycle begins to lift the economy and hiring. I sure could use another one of those 200 point days - heck make it a 300 point day to really make the bears tremble.

Re: Birchtree's account talk

That $267 billion in bond funds will eventually grow tiresome - and then find better gains in equity mutual funds - frosting on the bullish party. That'll be exciting. Snort.

So you discovered I have all my TSP money in the F fund.:D

Re: Birchtree's account talk

"Breadth Trying To Make Bullish Turn. The McClellan Summation Index (NYSE breadth MCSUM) is a market breadth indicator that is derived from the number of advancing and declining stocks in a given market. Healthy markets have broad participation during rallies."

Re: Birchtree's account talk

Birch, thanks for all of your bullish tidbits of gold throughout the years. I used to think you were off your rocker, but then I realized you've been through it all -- many times. Heard a former Goldman exec on TV and he was bullish and loved that there was skepticism built in for the next several years.

Re: Birchtree's account talk

I'm buying back some of my previous sales: GDI, AP, ASH and then some.

It's funny how 10:30 ET is the turning point on most days...either up, or down. If I was a day trader, I'd always trade at 10:30!! :)

Re: Birchtree's account talk

Ah, the VIX just dropped into the 22 range - could SPX of 1105 be around the corner?

Re: Birchtree's account talk

WOW!..I just seen something that's been staring us all in the face about Birch..

We all know about Birch's gainful market moves in the markets, right?...Well look at his living location.."GainesVille" Tell me that's a coincidence..;)

Re: Birchtree's account talk

Not to worry - it wasn't until June 2004 that the Fed started raising the Fed funds rate by 25 basis points to 1.25%. After that it continued to slowly and steadily (17 times) raise the Fed funds rate till it reached 5.25% in June 2006. The pain was felt in the housing and real estate industry. However, the stock market boom continued in spite of the rate hikes. This time around the dollar will strengthen and the stock market will like a stronger dollar. No subprimers to walk away from their responsibilities this time to bring the market down or create a credit crisis. This bull will run for many years - Snort.

Re: Birchtree's account talk

Buster,

Go Gators. If the jobless claims come in under 500,000 tomorrow - stand back from the thrust. I actually had a moment of panic buying this morning when the SPX went through 1105 - thinking we could see another 200 point Dow - I may feel the same emotion tomorrow. I'm just riding the gravey train.

Re: Birchtree's account talk

YES! Go Gators....
Looks like they might just make it a season to remember.

Re: Birchtree's account talk

GGal,

And here I thought you were going to warn me about violating the wash sale rules - I actually made profits on all my recent sales and will be paying my taxes accordingly so I can be forgiven my indiscretions - I simply must buy them all back. And I can't wait 30 days while they only get more expensive. Watch what happens to South Carolina this Saturday.
