Birchtree's Account Talk

Re: Birchtree's account talk

Sticking with my strategy of buying early and buying often - front running the earnings this week. So far today I have bought: TEX, HBI, AA, LTD, SNS, KMT, DW, TWX. If the SPX can hold above the gap level of 1080 today I'll be back to spend a few more dollars. Snort.

Re: Birchtree's account talk

The ratio adjusted NYSE AD line is now less than 1500 data points to the all time highs of 172,950. It has been a most remarkable run - sure glad I've been long all the way. Will the big money institutions push the Dow through the 10,000 level today - anything goes in this market. If they do ....

Re: Birchtree's account talk

"The next low in March 2010 will represent the first anniversary of the bull market and the probability of the less exuberant conditions. Historical data suggest that the overly bullish market stance, on average, lasts only about 3 to 4 quarters. Markets then shift into a more sustainable growth range of 50% to 80%."

Re: Birchtree's account talk

Some will remember that early last fall I purchased a 45 position portfolio in the most stinky financial sector toxic waste stocks available. I've been wondering why I'm becoming golden. From March 9 through Oct 9, financial stocks in the S&P 500 rose 145% - that helps explain it. And I'm still adding to some of those positions. There are several that went bust and will become tax write offs - but the winners are more than making up for them.

And let this be a lesson to all the 'Spineless' caught up in emotions.

NO MATTER HOW BLEAK --- the Markets may look in the Morning

it may be just the Cue to bring the BUYERS on board :D:D

Thus the RICH get RICHER -- and the More you have the More you Make

You must have read my mind....Can't be green everyday, and I need some infusion of those that have been waiting for a 'pullback'?

I have got to re-think this whole Buy and Hold....Wait...no....Just DCA in....that's the ticket!

Re: Birchtree's account talk

You must have read my mind....

Didn't need to ... you see the Very Best of minds.. think alike

Can't be green everyday,

On the Contrary -- DIVERSIFICATION is the KEY

Got a Booklet from Vanguard over the weekend :D:D

Some of the Bonds have a 30% Growth

So on any given day -- you can pretty much know for sure that even if one investment (TSP perhaps) goes down --- another is GREEN

and I need some infusion of those that have been waiting for a 'pullback'?

Ask and you shall receive ...

I have got to re-think this whole Buy and Hold....Wait...no....Just DCA in....that's the ticket!

Humm maybe we don't have to re-think anything...

Birch what do 'Friends' say to other 'Friends'??? :cheesy:

Re: Birchtree's account talk

I believe we are in the middle of bull leg #3 and will catapult up and over 1095 on the SPX sometime this week. Today is a little pull back before the next bull run. I'm holding steady and look forward to doing some more buying when we do start to rally again - tomorrow.

Re: Birchtree's account talk

BOOM - that's not a 155 going off but what is going to happen tomorrow. INTC is a blow out.

Re: Birchtree's account talk

Dow futures now at 78 and SPX at 9. We might take out Dow 10,000 just to scare those 13 billion shares that are still short.

Re: Birchtree's account talk

"Bill Miller tells Barron's that in the next five to 10 years the market will see a long lasting rally in very high quality mega-caps after this one-year dash to trash. You can buy the best in the market and still outperform for many, many years."

Re: Birchtree's account talk

"Assuming that our working model for the market's 4-year cycle is correct, and that a new cyclical bull was launched March '09, the first phase (phase A) of the rally is likely to either be completed or very close to it. And we would appear to be ripe to be entering phase B of the rally, a choppier, shallower uptrend that may last 16-18 more months, or until roughly the spring of 2011."

Any buying I do today is going to cost me more money but that's my sacrifice to make to continue to ride the bull. Let'er rip to Dow 10,000 and VIX to 22.

Re: Birchtree's account talk

Down only 4.95 percent from my all time high real tsp. Should I risk it to get there or run to safety and wait for a better day? Also...can we start a thread that shows how far we come in terms of real tsp account. I sure want to know where I sit with others.

Re: Birchtree's account talk
