Birchtree's Account Talk

Re: Birchtree's account talk

anthony,

If one follows the normal four year cycle it last nested in September '06 and would be expected to nest a low in October 2010. However, there is the possibility that we've just experienced an extended four year cycle low which means the next nesting will probably be in 2012. Sometimes these lows are deep and sometimes they can be shallow. I think July 15th was the bottom of a Hurst six year cycle low. Check the archives of financial sense and safehaven for articles by Tim Wood and Robert McHuge - they are predominantly cycle types. Look for a nice confirmation break out above the recently formed triangle and resistance line at SPX 1292 - I can still smell the rocket fuel. Anyone that dumps in the short term will have later regrets. Snort.

Re: Birchtree's account talk

I didn't want to mention it but Obamanomics could seriously jeopardize the longer term future of this country and that would certainly lead to an indepth severe bear market down the road. I'm not big on prayer but this turkey has me on my knees - because I know what the Donkey can do and I fear them for myself and my family.

Historically, the market does BETTER with democrats in charge.....

Re: Birchtree's account talk

That's true but those were different Donkeys. They had experience of leadership and mostly solid character except for Jimmy Carter. L2R, would you like me to get you a cane so you can stand up straight instead of leaning over to the left.

Re: Birchtree's account talk

Last I check supposed Republicans got us into the mess we are in right now, so your "Dems are worse" theory doesn't hold much weight.

Even if Obama gets elected, he will still be subjected to a middle of the road congress. I personally can't stand him or Johnny boy. They both are a big disipointment.

An even bigger disipointment is congress, now that's where we should be cleaning house...

Birch, mine was not a political statement, but a simple statement of FACT. My opinions are based on facts, not partisan politics and I'm perfectly capable of standing on my own two feet and defending them without the political BS. You went from critizing one candidate to a sweeping statement about "donkeys." Too bad your GOP crutch didn't keep you from falling into the pen and drinking the kool aid at the trough with the rest of the sheep.;)

As I've said before, I'm not voting this year...I don't like either candidate's policies and I'm not voting for someone I can't support...or for the "lesser of two evils" as I did in the last 2 elections.

My dear L2R you will be spared today because I'm not in an argumentative mood but I'm sure the opportunity will surface again. Discretion can be the better part of valor. Snort.

Re: Birchtree's account talk

If your problem with Obama is that he doesn't have experience, just call him a "rookie", or "newbie" or something equivalent to lack of experience. "Donkey" implies you have problems with any Democrat, and only accept "Elephants".
;)

That's the way Birch, pick your battles.;)

Re: Birchtree's account talk

I'm just too tired to fight today and I realize I would simply degrade myself and get mean and that would not be impressive. Sorry, we can tango another time - peace be still.

Re: Birchtree's account talk

Silverbird,

You are very prescient. We will leave it at that for today.

Re: Birchtree's account talk

Well let's just scratch the surface on this one because I'm sure it will run deeper. The new Muslin-outreach cordinator to the presidential campaign of Barack Obama has resigned amid questions about his involvement in an Islamic investment fund and various Islamic groups. One of those groups was the Muslim Brotherhood of Egypt. Why doesn't he just consult Farrakhan of Chicago - after all that's Obama's home political base.

Re: Birchtree's account talk

Appears that 3 Donkeys (or is it mules) are thrashing 1 Elephant? Gang fights are NOT allowed. OK, hands on the hood!!:nuts:View attachment 4411

Re: Birchtree's account talk

I am NONPARTISAN. My biggest complaint with the "system" is that one must register as belonging to a "party" in order to exercise one's constitutionally-guaranteed right to vote. FYI....I'm Independent, so I don't get to vote in the primaries of EITHER majority party...and we all know that the popular vote doesn't count. So please refrain from identifying me as one animal or another simply because I don't agree with absolutely every policy of one party or the other.

As a matter of fact, my truly left-leaning friends consider me to be too conservative...

I'm aware that truculence is part of my Irish heritage and probably one of the few that doesn't like the name Kennedy.

Wasn't the word I was thinking of...:D
Buster and Norm,

Take a page from the gentleman who owns the thread,. When a discussion degenerates into name-calling and personal insults, I'm leaving. Thanks.:notrust:

Re: Birchtree's account talk

I see the fools running the Massachusetts state retirement plan have just fired Bill Miller - that's got to be a real signal of the bottom.

Re: Birchtree's account talk

I don't believe either the democratic or republican parties are anything like what they used to be, nor are their policies. They are both capable of scaring me half to death. I find the candidates the democrats offered this time are downright insulting to responsible citizens, and the republilcans could have done much better. I am neither racist or sexist and resent being classed as liberal or conservative. I too am disavowed by those of both parties as being opposite of what they stand for, really, it would help If I could determine what either of them really stand for. It's a moving target. Anyway what I think we all really need to worry about is what the 'can'ocrats'; are going to do with our retirement system. The donkeys have never been our friends, (remember the Carter administration audits? I sure do!) and the helliphants will charge on you at the least provocation. (ever been trampled by a budget cut?)We have been faced with choosing the lesser of two evils for so long, we wouldn't recognise a true savior If one really did apperar. So we should be very afraid of any who claim they can 'save the day'.Oops, rant over. :embarrest: !@#$$%#%^&*^***this crippled browser, no formatting or line breaks allowed!

Re: Birchtree's account talk

Good to hear from you Eldritch. I remember the 1977 Carter energy plan - conservation and nothing else. We don't need any more out of nowhere guys messing up the country. I think I'll join up with the Nation of Islam and see if I can vett out the true story behind this latest resignation of Chicago lawyer Mazen Asbahi - there has to be something there.

"The latest fall in commodity prices has given Fed Chairman Bernanke the wiggle room that he has hoped for desperately these past months. The pullback in oil and other commodities will give him the golden opportunity to lower interest rates further to avoid the looming recession from morphing into depression." This could be the real reason to see an extensive market rally.
