BigJohn's Account Talk

Moving to G, want to lock in my gains and look for a good entry point over the next week.

Best of Luck to all

Does anyone one remember how to gauge the chances of a FV ??

Yes, you hover the mouse over the EFA chart. At this point the mouse arrow turns into a hand. Put the hand at the 12:00 time, if the closing price exceeds the range of the hand, you will get a fair +- Value

Actually I was being serious, scroll down to the EFA chart at the bottom of this page. No +- FV today, so says the hand.

If I recall correctly (yo this is old-school) if the there was more than a .1 difference between the 12:00 noon price and the closing price, then you'd get a +-FV. The hand's size covers .1

It would appear that we did have a small negative FV today - and the money will probably come back tomorrow.

Thanks JTH for the input, I couldn't resist the occasional Bull Durham quote...especially when i thought you were joking.

BT, I think you are correct...i thought I was going to eeke out a small gain yesterday, no dice home slice.

Following my general strategy of buying in pre-deadline when I see a drop of 1%, I fund is diving...hopefully won't get hosed with an FV.

I wonder if I should shange my allocation from 50S/50I to 40S/60I. Mmmm, so many choices.

Too late! Missed the deadline. I took to long to think about it. Maybe I'll change my allocation tomorrow.:cheesy:

Nice to see I haven't lost my touch...mere seconds after my move was registered on tsp.gov the I fund bounced off the low for the day and has been steadily moving up.

Oh well, back to strategery rule #2: just sit tight until the price recovers.

So my strategy should be to follow you 1-2 days behind. :D ;)

Hey John,

You may eak out an I - Fund dip with your move today.
Good move by the way IMO.

Good things looking forward.

I hope you are right!

Just checked and notice the I fund is moving back down...may play a short hop in and out, or stay in for a while, we'll see.

Who's the genius that has already used both moves for the month already? You guessed it, me. So, here is the dilemma, do I jump out of the I which currently is showing a 1% gain pre-deadline (which is my #1 strategy, moving out when high pre-deadline) or do I ride it out?

Decisions Decisions...if at 8:45 PST the I fund is still above 1% I may head for the hills.

You did good John. Wouldn't hold it against you if you bailed today.:D
Would give you one of my IFT's if I could. I think they will both go unused.
