Asylum's Account Talk

The biggest up day in history can come at any time. Perhaps the transports today may be a harbinger +172.95. One has to remember that as we continue to move toward the epicenter of primary 3 corrections will tend to be harder, faster, and set spectacular bottoms in which to move up aggressively. That's only my personal opinion and not many feel that way.

Say you own two cars. An SUV and a small car. (say a Civic). You want to replace one of them to save the amount of fuel you burn...your costs etc....

Assume you rack up the same mileage on both cars, and maintenance and all that is about equal.

So now say you either:

1. Replace your current SUV that gets 12mpg and replace it with one that gets 15 mpg (3 mpg better)

or:

2. Replace your little car that gets 35 mpg with a super efficient car that gets 50 mpg. (15 mpg better)

Which option gets you further ahead?

Good stuff..thanks;)

and for once..the HUMMER wasn't used as the gas guzzling poster child icon so unjustly used all the time by the leaf lickers.:D:D

I'll take the 12mpg and buy the 50mpg, after all, I like shoebox's.
I actually owned a AMC Pacer (fishbowl). What I wanted was a
good old fashion muscle car but could never afford one. With the
$4.00 per gallon crisis, I can't afford a fishbowl.
:)

Sorry about the delay in saying Happy Birthday,Asylum; it took me awhile to gather up the rest of the candles that wouldn't fit on nuutts' cake nasa fixed the other day! :D

hopefully yesterday was a great day for you - and that you'll find a moment to get back into posting...

I do have a question, though. If the Treasury does make the switch from paper bills to coins, how will that affect the `just print some more' that seems to be the current activity. Or is that the guarantee that it will never happen?

Oh, and I've got a civilian pcs to Germany next month with a new agency.

Any & all tips, tricks & advice appreciated!

Well, 2013 closed out great! I've been all-in the S fund since early 2012 and what a great ride it was this year - I was very close to pulling back into the G Fund several times. But, I'd packed my up the letter containing my tsp acct login info in a box for my pcs to Germany in May and have yet to find it...

Cheers to a great 2014!

Are you saying you are stuck in the S Fund because you don't have access to your login info? That sounds pretty scary. :worried:

Yeah - that's exactly right. I can wait for a new one to arrive via snail mail and I suppose I will, but it's been good to just ignore the impulse to swap my allocations around and hold fast.
