350Z's I Fund Thread - Sept. 07

Dollar is pushing back. Now showing the I fund at +.12, but if it wasn't for the dollars big bounce this morning, it would be +.19 instead.

That's ok. I'll take a little relief on the dollar, after the tumble the last couple of days, as long as the strength in the stocks can keep giving me +.12 cent days.

I am following Ebb to safe haven. I have been trying to follow Ebb most of the time but have found that when I deviate is usually when I loose, so I am following more closely now, especially the exits.

I agree is just that I think that the market is already starting to count on another cut rate from the Fed. Bumpy times!

I must agree. I believe there are definite bumpy roads in the near future. I am hoping we still have buying opportunities through the ride. Although the Dow is currently only about 160 pts from its all time high, our economy doesn't have the "strength" it had back when it initially hit the magic 14K. I believe the housing market will continue to drain on the market for months to come.

Does anyone have an estimate?

Robo-

Question: How often do you need the data?

It was posted as a plus +.12 cents at 10:09.

If you need more current data, the best thing you can do is download and use the utility ChemEng developed so you can get up-to-the-minute updates yourself:

ChemEng- where is your spreadsheet posted? The only link I have for it is:
http://www.tsptalk.com/mb/attachment.php?attachmentid=2190&d=1190826131

Is there another, better link? Is it on Tom's "Utilities" page?

It provides EXECTLY what you need- it's free, although I would suggest a $10 donation towards the cause of keeping it updated- as from time to time macros to outside links change, and ChemEng works hard to keep it current and add functionality. It may be the best $10 donation shareware you ever got.

Get that excel spreadsheet, and you can update yourself with the value of the "I" every couple of minutes, if you like.

I believe ChemEng's tool is one of the best discoveries on TSPTALK, and well worth having.

I don't leave home without it!

(P.S.- the ChemEng I fund TSP Lookup tool is now showing me that the I fund is up six cents as of 11:06 a.m.. Thats a plus 15 cents from the stock prices, minus nine cents from the dollar's value change, equals a plus six cents)

It's nice to have frequent posting updates, as not all of us are authorized to download LookUp...

I appreciate it, anyway :)

ChemEng:

I think I have expressed this before but if I have not "my bad".

Thank you so much for giving us the "I fund lookup.xls". You have no idea how much time it saves me when updating my website. Specially to generate the graphs I post at www.tspgo.com. I used to do each one them individually until you came along and shared your spreadsheet. Now I just do an update and "whalaa" the graphs are updated. I can't run it at work to get an update. However I use the little short cut you gave us to get a rough idea of the before noon estimate. It is not perfect but it works for what I need to know.(remember it?. Nikkei 225, Euronext 100, FTSE 100 and the Dollar)

You are "The Man" and the one who started it all when talking about "the excel spreadsheet".

Thanks again.

I also want to say thanks for the I fund spreadsheet. I don't use it to often but I still have a copy that I downloaded a while back. I squirrel away all sorts of stuff hoping one day I'll need it.

If you need more current data, the best thing you can do is download and use the utility TSPLOOKUP spreadsheet so you can get up-to-the-minute updates yourself.

Jayhawker's TSPLOOKUP provides what you need- it's free, although as a shareware, Jayhawker suggests a $10 donation towards the cause of keeping it updated- as from time to time macros to outside links change, and Jayhawker works hard to keep it current and add functionality. It may be the best $10 donation shareware you ever got.

Wow. Those cells look vaguely familiar.

Actually thats the *exact* wording of the spreadsheet I have been updating here for over a year now.

I appreciate your recommendation of TSPLookup, BUT, you quoted values from ChemEng's "I Fund Lookup" spreadsheet. CE deserves credit for his work.

CE's spreadsheet gets the job done. Mine has more features. Both are handy to have!

Ed.
