Declining $ is GOOD for the "I" fund, it will add to a +FV. Dollar index (-.69%) right now, congratulations!!:D

Does the dollar impact the EFA index, then? If so, then yeah, it's a very good thing for those of us jumping out today.

Then you MAY miss the correction tomorrow -FV, if there is one? Great one day move in the "I"!!:D:D

Heh -- I can't take credit for that one -- Ebb's into the F-fund tomorrow (though the move makes pretty good sense, anyway)...

For those who stayed in the I Fund, will be rewarded because the Nikkei is going to explode at least 1.5%-2% tonight. Even with the +fv, we will be ahead!! I knew the FED would cut....NO CHOICE.....

I'm glad to hear that. I was worried with the "huge" day we are getting that there would be a -FV tomorrow to take back the +FV we get today.

Correct me if wrong but did not TSP tom prove that the market is lower a week later after market reacts positivly or high if it acts negative!!
WE ARE IN A RECESSION , FED proved it .
Oct will be much lower Just did not want to take the risk .
I know the fed sucks up to market I should have realized that!!

Duplicate post looking for responces, You were right on the fed 12%
I should have known how much of a market whore the fed is!!Congrats

Got me a put at 1520 on sp for Oct I bet Im in the money!!

That is the tendancy, but not a certainty - that we could give back some or all of those gains in the coming days.

OK, investors win today. Now, half of my prophesy is fulfilled, Come on Nikkei!

Now is anyone going to the ebb-side
Anyone wanna guess the FV?

20?30?40+?

I know this will be meaningless, u never will know how they do it, but I will put up a best guess- 52 pennies.....

It don't even sound right does it?

I have no regrets about jumping out of the market tonight...by my calculations, with a probable +fv the I-fund will be up more than 2% for the day.

If there isn't an fv, it would be a pretty egregious breach of normal operations on the part of Barclays.

Will the fed's move be enough, or too little, too late? Who knows? But for today, it was good news for equities (and perhaps tomorrow).

:D

Law of phys"I"cs:
For every FV, there is an equal and opposite FVC.
If there is a +FV today, there will be an equal and opposite FV correction (FVC) tomorrow. It is too early to start talking about whether there will be an FV tomorrow or not.

I stayed "i" when Ebb said yes. Got burned -- feeling much better today thank you very much Uncle Ben.

My guess on a FV? (since you asked) 53 cents... is there an "over/under" on this thing???

Oops...

correction when Ebb said "S"

and sorry to pull a "Price is Right" dirty trick on you Technician... I'll say 55 cents (just in case there's an "over/under")

But there will likely be one...

From TSP FAQ page;

#6. Why doesn't the change in the I Fund share price always correspond to the EAFE Index which it tracks?

(excerpt).... Fair value pricing was implemented to protect long-term shareholders from short-term traders attempting to profit from price difference between the index's closing price and the price of the fund before it was repriced. While it causes some variation in daily pricing, the variation is generally reversed the next day.

And as we can see, our I-fund stops at 11:30 to 12:00 EST while the EFA chart still keeps going (keeping track of the dollar and market movement).

Here's what I have for a +fv...
If Barclays uses the DJIA: +$0.50, or total gain of +2.13%
If Barclays uses the EFA: +$0.58, or total gain of +2.45%

I'm guessing they'll use the EFA, to keep it more in line with the gains in the other TSP equity funds.
