I have no regrets about jumping out of the market tonight...by my calculations, with a probable +fv the I-fund will be up more than 2% for the day.

If there isn't an fv, it would be a pretty egregious breach of normal operations on the part of Barclays.

Will the fed's move be enough, or too little, too late? Who knows? But for today, it was good news for equities (and perhaps tomorrow).

:D

I fund will lose tomorrow. IMHO

I agree with what you wrote.

I sent to S when Ebb said to and am still in it. I wished I had followed him exactly.

Here's what I have for a +fv...
If Barclays uses the DJIA: +$0.50, or total gain of +2.13%
If Barclays uses the EFA: +$0.58, or total gain of +2.45%

I'm guessing they'll use the EFA, to keep it more in line with the gains in the other TSP equity funds.

Does that take into account any +FV effect from the falling dollar?

G 12.12 even
F 11.59 +.02 +0.17%
C 17.04 +.48 +2.90%
S 20.34 +.60 +3.04%
I 24.23 +.67 +2.84%

Wow! A +2.51% FV or +.59 cents! :blink::nuts:

Dang.

I was in 50/50 C and I, but followed the ebb out at the close today.

Now I got to figure out if I want to get back in tomorrow on the chance of a few lingering days of upside, or stick on the "F" and wait for the down day s ahead.

Decisions, decisions.......

Now we'll get to digest the message over the next couple days and try to figure out what the Fed really said with this move.

It says the economy is hurting, or at least they see that possibility.

Again, Tom may be on target with a couple days of euphoria, and then the shock of reality setting in, and the market will be lower later.

So how long with the upswing last? A couple days?

Think 1982 my good fellow. Strong back to backs on August 17 and 18. You mean you can't remember that far back - good thing I'm here then.

Gas in west palm at $3.10 a gallon middle grade
Boaters are joining up and taking one boat out instead of 3.
People are borrowing from their TSP at record numbers.
Only one of my 48 co-workers bought a new car this year and that was one of thoses 40 mile/gallon skates.
The list goes on.
I think Tom is on target.

Now for the good news. I won my first No Limit trny last week, the bad news it was only a 6 dollar buy in. All in all it was a good week as I was up a bit over 600 for the week.
Now the loosing starts

Yes, but did you know they would cut 0.5% instead of the predicted 0.25% AND also cut the discount rate 0.5% AND issue a statement showing less concern about inflation AND that the Dow would make its biggest one-day point move in nearly 5 years AND that the S&P would jump nearly 3% AND that the Dollar Index would fall nearly 0.7%...?
.............................................

I think the magnitude of this extremely aggressive move by the Fed caught many people, including me, by surprise. Nevertheless, congratulations on a good prediction and to everyone who was heavily invested in stocks. You were definitely on the right side of the gamble! (I was only 30% stocks but still had a nice gain for the day.) Everyone wins today and there are no losers, so it was a great day for all of our retirement accounts! :)
I don't usually do this, but;

Hoping this is strong enough to drag over into tomorrow. I think so? after that it will sink in that the FED did this because the economy is really weak and down she goes, IMHO!:DView attachment 2138
