Are you jumping in the I fund today?

I haven't made up my mind yet. I was hoping to see a dead cat bounce today and then a bigger sell-off tomorrow. The Yen is not looking good for the Nikkei. It needs to turn around sometime today or the Nikkei will open down hard. If it turns around this afternoon, the I fund could get hit with a +FV.

I was leaning to buying tomorrow also because of the large +FV risk, but the change of direction of the markets this morning is making me reconsider. If the market continues to trend up by 1130, then I think I buy in. The most likely outcomes are either it continues flat and I protect low buy-in price or it sells off in the afternoon which sets up for good -FV possibilities.

What is everyone else's thought?

ChemEng,

for what its worth, I'm strongly considering going I fund. But, this 3 day cylce kick that I've been looking at (and unfortunately not following to the T) is calling for today as the Buy day, or bought off today's morning lows. It also calls for highs in the indexes this afternoon and a gap up tomorrow morning. I guess that means it's calling for a +FV today that would be corrected tomorrow in the I fund. So, maybe S fund is the call with tech earnings after the bell.

This strategy is partly assuming a rally off earnings too... that may be a big ASSumption because we all know how stocks can sell off after earnings, esepecially after such a volatile Q3... we just have to anticipate strong Q4 guidance and the global growth que-card to be read and accepted by investors.

From what I am reading, all of what is going on in Turkey as far as the threatened invasion of northern Iraq by Turkey, and the things happening with oil in the region has a lot of investors really jittery. I'm out for today and tomorrow but I'm a little uncertain about jumping back in to the I Fund.

Of course volitility is always a big question mark, but Im not exactly expecting a rally either. If the -FV play happens, then a sideways move tomorrow will be profitable. If the markets tank, then there is some cushion to ease the pain.

The Yen is now looking good, thanks to good earnings from tech. The Nikkei will rebound tonight.

The dollar will now resume it's fall due to G7. Tomorrow's CPI better be good. Although, if the PPI was any hint, the headline number could be higher than expected. Perhaps will get a lower than expected core.
