Re: 350Z's I Fund Thread-Feb07

350z,

I appreciate the work you are doing. Don't worry about those who would detract or otherwise cast aspersions on your efforts.

I advise that you just quit trying to explain things to those who refuse to understand. Anyone who spends any time at all reading this thread will be able to discern what is going on here, and will discount the posts of those who either cannot or will not "get it".

Keep up the great work! :)

Re: 350Z's I Fund Thread-Feb07

MSCI EAFE posted the I fund at -2.2260 or -51 cents, plus 39 FV from yesterday = -12 cents. I fund price should be 22.55.

Almost forgot, No FV today. Just the correction from yesterday.
My turn for a dumb question.
Does this mean the FV will not be factored into tonight's TSP price?
If so Yippi ti yi yah:nuts:

Re: 350Z's I Fund Thread-Feb07

I guess I am confused. The chart on TSP Talk shows EFA up above red line. Is this not correct? Just a newbie retiree and wondering.

Please don't flame me for being so ill informed.

Your questions are obviously those of an honest and enthusiastic participant who desires to learn and develop. No one will take issue with one who truly seeks knowledge and wisdom. It's those who continue to to demonstrate arrogance and sarcasm that suffer admonishment.

and remember, the EFA is not exactly the same as the EAFE...

Good luck and prosperity! :)

Re: 350Z's I Fund Thread-Feb07

Thank you for kind comments. So where can I find what the actual value is? I realize it is probably a conglomerate of funds.

Re: 350Z's I Fund Thread-Feb07

Ok...newbie question here...Where is this I fund tracker?....I'm looking at the Morgan Stanley EAFE and it shows +.47 right now.....

Straighten me out please!

Attached is the tracker I am speaking of. ChemEng designed it.

But bear in mind, there is a fudge factor. This is why a lot of folks rely on
350Z's faithful Fair Value estimates.

Throughout the day, I normally calculate the estimate by .25 for gee whizez then add that to the total. If your total is in ( ) then it is negative.

The spreadsheet is also helpful in importing all the TSP shareprices which show on the right hand side.

I hope this helps.:)

Im beginning to think that the reason the fudge factor is there is because Im tracking the wrong thing. Instead of tracking the major country market indices, perhaps I should be tracking the individual companies instead. Thats part of the reason I was looking for those data points earlier in the thread.

If anyone has the individual companies and their contribution to the I-fund, I would be willing to put the work in. (All I would do is alter the lookup values on the spreadsheet. So it wouldnt be much.)

Re: 350Z's I Fund Thread-Feb07

Well, I guess the Nik isn't rebounding like we had thought.

At least for the moment it isn't. We'll just have to see how the rest of the OSM react.

CHIN UP!

Re: 350Z's I Fund Thread-Feb07

The trading day is early, so there is still time for a Nikkei recoery. (@ 9:07 PM, -203.16 points). If there was no -FV today and assuming Sugarandspice is right, the fact that Barclays owes the I fund some money might compensate for a slower overseas market performance. Am I right?
