Re: 350Z's I Fund Thread-Feb07

Dead cats all over.

Unless Europe balances, we're in for more big down ahead.

I'm going to whipsaw back out of "I" in the morning, unless something in Europe changes my mind.

I think the comments about the 10% correction are valid.

Re: 350Z's I Fund Thread-Feb07

The trading day is early, so there is still time for a Nikkei recoery. (@ 9:07 PM, -203.16 points). If there was no -FV today and assuming Sugarandspice is right, the fact that Barclays owes the I fund some money might compensate for a slower overseas market performance. Am I right?

No. The I fund is no longer owed any money. It is square now.

Could be. Since I threw all my money into stocks for the first time in over a month. Nikkei is getting hammered now. Hopefully Europe and the dollar will carry the day.

The Nik is look'n pretty scarey... but I have seen this before and the (I) wasn't even scathed.

Let's hope it's one of those days!

Amen brother.

If this slide is for real, then the F fund might need to be looked at as a money making option.

Re: 350Z's I Fund Thread-Feb07

Are We Idiots???????

GA

You know... we're not.

If the OSM were UP, we'd be "geniuses", right?

Let's not be premature about already calling the (I) a down day.

That can be turned around in a NY minute, literally.

That said, we're simply "risk takers". That's the nature of the game we play.

We're not always going to win. No one does.

But when we do win, we must remain humble and not flaunt it.

Because again, it can be taken away in a NY minute. And yes, literally.

In the meantime, let's see how this plays out.

As always, CHIN UP!

Re: 350Z's I Fund Thread-Feb07

If I had this morning to do all over with what I knew I would not have changed a thing knowing what I knew then.

Win some you lose some. Too early to see how today is going to shake out. I'm back at where I was February 12th - because of one unusually 'historic' day that blindsided more then a few pros. I did good in the "I" Fund and still hope to make some profits in the future. That being said everyone even people who do this for a living have bad days.

This day isn't over yet.

Perhaps the smart thing for us (I) Funders or anyone for that matter to do after a correction is not to jump in 100% within a couple days after in case the bottom is still forming.

Maybe we should use a little DCA to lessen the blow if the bottom hasn't been reached.

At least it will do our psyche good knowing we weren't in 100% on a continued slide while we simply DCA'd another 10% for a cheaper buy.

The reason why most of us don't do this is because we want that huge chunk of change, and we want it now. Maybe it's time to rethink that, especially during a correction.

Re: 350Z's I Fund Thread-Feb07

Well, the NIKK 225 closed down 150, and the NIKK 300 closed down 2.97.

At one point, the NIKK 225 was down over 300, while the NIKK 300 was down over 5.

So, all in all, not too bad of a day.

Plus, it did recover from being down over 300 points.

Signs of life, IMO.

God Bless, and see you in the morning.:)

Re: 350Z's I Fund Thread-Feb07

Wheels,
I just woke up. Nikkei did fail us, but Europe is doing fine. Between Europe and a falling dollar the I fund seems well-positioned. Moreover, the U.S. futures are positive before the market opens. I read that some people here are considering staying in the I fund through tomorrow and perhaps over the weekend. Can someone weigh-in on the pros and cons?

Re: 350Z's I Fund Thread-Feb07

Heads up!
I hope to consider other's ideas, but some opinions are very persuasive: See Tom Crowley's commentary, the ebbtracker, and Trader Fred.

Copy:
"FYI, supplemental submodel W4 signaled a Sell signal for the C, S, and I funds. One would go completely into the G Fund and completely out of the C, S, and I Funds tomorrow (Thursday) if you followed that trade. The submodel W4 trade is currently experiencing a loss of minus 3% for the C Fund. This is not part of the official TSP Trader System.

- Trader Fred"

Nikkei's loss was not as bad,Europe is doing great

US futures are up. I Fund can dance today. I thought the Asian markets would do well overnight,as I mentioned yesterday. This leads me to think of holding I into Friday for that Asian rally, which is way overdue. Lets see first what today brings. I Fund should do well.:)
