Re: 350Z's I Fund Thread-Feb07

You can Google EFA for more charts.
Here is the closing along with after hours trade.

Part of the problem is the switch from AMEX to NYSE.
It appears that all the NYSE charts/stocks are DOA at 2:34 p.m.

  • iShares MSCI EAFE Index Fund (ETF) announced that it has begun trading on NYSE. The stock has previously traded at AMEX.

The closing price for "I" can be found here, just make sure the date is correct.

Re: great read

key part of article..... The market is very short yen at the moment and becoming even more so over the past few days because carry trades remain lucrative. However, these same carry traders are ready bail at any sign of trouble because they know that greater risks lie in the direction of yen strength than weakness. Also, if the yen becomes too weak, Japan runs the risk of being branded a currency manipulator. Therefore, the risk of carry trade unwinding could trigger a sharp rise in the value of the Japanese Yen.

Green on the Nikkei, CAC, DAX, FSTE.

Dollar now down as well, propelling us towards another green open on the "I" today.

Re: 350Z's I Fund Thread-Feb07

Score another one for the Bulls! For four days in a row now, they have successfully defended the ship from being sunk by the bears. I will continue to sit on the sidelines wait this one out. But I'm slowly losing my patience because the dollar is about to fall. I can't remember the last time I stayed in the G this long.:D

After today, Bulls-4, Bears-0.

Another day, but the story is the same. Can the bulls make it 5 days in a row? It looks like it. The G will probably pay on Monday.

Re: ty350z, IMO I think the dollar is ahead of itself.

The US markets are looking for any news to sell-off. Like weatherweenie posted the Iran newshttp://biz.yahoo.com/ap/070222/wall_street.html?.v=15. At any rate, I like the yen and feel it will rebound helping out the I fund. So, I am staying 100% I Fund. I think the OSM are cheap compared to the US. Also, the Italian PM resigned, fwiw. Looking at the housing dataand Toll Brothers, sales are off....Fed cannot raise rates, with that. That should help the dollar go down.
Dollar should stay weak going into next week. BTW, that post was from yesterday, fwiw.

Re: 350Z's I Fund Thread-Feb07

One too many times to the well. :(

Actually, despite the minor losses in the C & S, I would still score this one for the bulls because the markets finished well above the lows of the day. Today's action was no different than the previous 4 days. Sellers try to sink the ship early in the morning, but buyers come in and establish a bottom and dominate the rest of the day. IMO, the bull's ship took some damage but is still floating. Most of the indices, except for $OEX, are still at the top of their current channel.

After today, bulls-5, bears-0.

DJIA down 3 straight days, looking for a pop

next week. If there is no bad news about Iran over the weekend, it should be a great day Monday for the markets. This should help the I . my 2 cents.
