The up side of a falling dollar:

Durable orders surprisingly strong:
A key component of the monthly report that serves as a proxy for business investment, non-defense capital goods excluding aircraft, posted a 4.7 percent increase in orders last month. It was the biggest increase since September 2004….
…That was nearly three times the 1.7 percent increase economists had forecast for non-defense capital goods orders excluding aircraft.

Nikkei 300 coming out firing on all cylinders for the afternoon session. +0.89%, was up anywhere from 0.30-0.45% in the morning session.

Ebb, your tracker indicates you will be in the I fund thru the rest of the week.

Are you that brave? and what about next week?

Thanks
GA

Yep, I'm in the I-fund til Friday. I've decided to leave my emotions when it comes to making market decisions. I may tweak the ebbtracker to optimize it, but that's about it. I haven't done anything yet for next week, maybe tonight I will. :)

This sucks! The dollar is eating up just about all of the gains in the I fund. We'll be lucky to make a few pennies today.

The dollar index is currently up 0.32%. Any thoughts on whether it's trying to find a bottom?

The dollar recovered from fresh two-year lows against the euro yesterday. US data out earlier showed the number of people filing new claims for unemployment insurance fell more than expected last week.

GDP probably won't help either.

Bloomberg TV analyst sees Institutional money coming into the markets from the sidelines today. Any thoughts on whether there will be positive window dressing this month with Monday being the last day of April?

the end of June is the true window dressing. When they say that there is money coming in....it tells me to bail out of the markets!!!

Japan was up nicely overnight, but that dollar thingy is slamming everything.

Who'd a thunk that our dollar would get stronger?

Maybe it is time to take a pause in the "I" fund. It's had one heck of a bull run lately.....
