Not to be braggadocio but the Mrs's AEPGX international fund was up $0.47, fortunately what's hers is also mine. Just a point of interest for anyone wanting to step outside of their TSP zone.

Ebb, your tracker indicates you will be in the I fund thru the rest of the week.

Are you that brave? and what about next week?

Thanks
GA

Don't forget Golden Week vacation in Japan, etc. There will be some unwinding of positions before vacation so could effect a major bump on the asia side.

If our market sees a 5 to 10% correction as predicted by some, does the same automatically happen to the I fund?

Thanks

All ship rise and fall with the tide. I printed off all three funds once and laid them on top of each other. Held them up to the light and yes. Not very sophisticated, but proved a good point. I'm sure there are some instances that it did not happen, but guessing which time is the trick.

I'm looking forward to the gains. Kinda thought the international markets would like what they saw on the US stock market today.

My wife and I are staying entirely "I" for now, and probably the forseeable future. Of course, we're not retiring for the next 30 years or so, so we can afford to let the market work its long-term magic :)

I've been tracking the various funds in a simple spreadsheet since 2003. The correlation is pretty clear, at least in the equities funds. However, it's also notable that the I-fund has outperformed all other funds since 2004, over virtually any time period longer than three months (I'm sure this isn't news to anyone here).

I think the "I" owes a +FV tomorrow!!!!!!!

So assuming that means those markets are closed, then they don't effect the I fund? Is that traditionally a good or bad time for the I?

Typically right before a vacation traders don't want to be long the market because too many things can happens - alot bad so they sell out their positions. Because Japan is such a large part % of the I fund you may not see as big a jump in Japan's markets after a big jump in the U.S. like you normally would. So for the Thurs. and Fri. japan/asia could be a little slow.
