another AMBAC bail-out rumor?

Stocks attempted to fight off afternoon selling pressure as the financial sector (-1.5%) was buoyed by word that Ambac (ABK 10.73, +0.79) may soon benefit from a bailout plan. CNBC reported the deal is progressing, but not complete. Uncertainty surrounding the deal caused the upswing to fade.

Still - as Birch noted earlier - it clearly shows a lot of money on the sidelines is anxious for a little prompting to BUY - which is exactly what we need.

Market has decided to turn to rally mode - sheeeeeet. Watch'er run back to neutral.

another AMBAC bail-out rumor?

Just a repeat of this morning's news...this time "insiders" telling the FT....big whoop. And the usual manipulations by CNBC.

More market saving BS from CNBC. Charlie has been saying the same **** for the last two weeks. I'm losing money in the F fund because of him.

Talk of taking oil off the dollar standard has been around for decades. It never went anywhere since no one could agree on a replacement.

Converting the standard to the Euro would be the most practical move. China elected to make that move a while back, when it was convinced the dollar was too weak.

OK, bought back into C fund today by COB. How's it look for a bounce tomorrow or Thursday? Probably gonna sell on the first bounce, or does anyone think it may be a multi day bounce? Someone, please give me some reason for some hope!!!:o

Just read about the "Bond Insurer Rescue Plan" and the good news from Cisco and Amazon. What are the odds of that lifting the market tomorrow, anyone.....Bueller.....Bueller....

Well, I don't want to jinx us, but the afternoon pump did not come off after the close. Also, the currency markets are looking OK. I will probably sell tomorrow.

Btw, are you a Packer fan?

F Fund down to $15.09 - 6 today. I really would like to know is what CNBC legal they seem to have late breaking news on some false report to give false hope to create a false market and then people lost money over and over.

They completely screwed up the market last week and I believe just report the facts. One has to wonder since they are all in the market they know how to move it up or down it is a different form of INSIDE TRADING.

Take that 200 swing on that Friday. The market was headed down for a 100+ point loss then suddenly they can't wait 20 minutes they have to break a rumor and the market swings up 100+ now if you or I worked for CNBC and did this daily we could work there for a week and retire making millions. THAT IS INSIDE TRADING CNBC AND THEY DID IT AGAIN TODAY !!!

I hear you Braveheart. Where is the SEC? CNBC, with the exception of Rick Santelli, are nothing but pump monkeys for Wall Street. They do this **** all the time with a smirk on their face.

This afternoon, the F fund went from up 1 penny to -6 cents thanks Gasperino coming out once again, in the afternoon, with the same BS.

Once this market crashes, I hope they all lose their jobs.

Yes I am. Born and raised in Wisconsin but been in Alaska for 22 years now. I have many fond memories of Brett and lots of near heart attacks with his gunslinger style of play. He is a class act and will be missed. I wonder if my Favre rookie cards just went up in value??? Now we pin our hopes on Aaron Rodgers. "Rebuilding Season" coming up.

Thanks for the reply about the market tomorrow. If it looks up in the morning I will probably sell also.
