Energy dept release Sept 09; World Bank Global report Sept 09:

:notrust:Global oil demand will collapse next year and commodities will not return to the highs they reached this summer in the foreseeable future, two authoritative reports said on Tuesday as they forecast a long and painful worldwide recession.
The stark conclusions came as the World Bank's chief economist predicted that the world faced "the worst recession since the Great Depression".
The US energy department said global oil demand will fall this year and next, marking the first two consecutive years' decline in 30 years.
"The increasing likelihood of a prolonged global economic downturn continues to dominate market perceptions, putting downward pressure on oil prices," it said, forecasting that demand would drop 50,000 barrels a day this year and a hefty 450,000 b/d in 2009. US oil demand will drop next year to the lowest level in 11 years.
Meanwhile, the World Bank's Global Economic Prospects report said the commodities boom of the past five years - which drove up prices 130 per cent - had "come to an end".

Oil is and will continue to be for some time to come a driving force in our economy. However as technology continues to make things more efficient and alternative energies come on line it only stands to reason that demand will deminish. Yes the recession will have an affect on demand as well but production will have to pick up eventually to meet demand.

Futures turned green this morning, nice.
Lets get this week started in the right direction.

Lets hope they keep going in the right direction and stay there. Unlike last week when futures started green and tanked by the end of the day. :toung:
 
Anything is possible NASA but it is looking pretty strong at the moment.
Time will tell.
 
Slow day today. I will continue to stand in the foxhole and fight with 25% dry powder in reserve.
Once I have the IFT's to move in that direction I'll throw it in on a dip.

48 degrees this morning. Summers almost over.:(

We call them woolly bears (brown and orange) and a local long time weatherman has a festival every 2nd Sunday in September. I can't remember how years it has been going on. I saw one with a very large orange stipe and the wife saw one that was all brown. Does mean they cancel each other out?:confused:
 
I ordered my wife a new wedding ring. Can you tell me if this is to gaudy?

NASA I have to be honest I nearly had an accident when I watched it.

Futures up this morning. Maybe we get alittle spring forward after yesterdays slight down day.

If we ever develop a reliable alternative energy this will become a nonissue.

Although demand is on the decline it is mearly a mirage due to decreased manufacturing. WHEN things pick up so will demand.

I'm a turkey hunter and what he was doing is HARD. Those are real turkey vocalizations too.
