WIND HUNTER'S Account Talk

Thinking about just riding the C ocean from here on out.

Why? The S&P500 is one of the few non-tech heavy indexes yet to recover from the turn of the millenia bear and for good reason. There are only two ways large caps can make any significant growth: 1) gobbling up little companies, 2) creating new markets. I think it's fair to say we are at the end of the Bush era of mega corporation deregulation. That at it's best was only barely able to keep up with the small/mid caps where significant growth can be achieved through good old fashioned hard work and marketing.

If you have the time to absorb the volatility why not take the greater risk/reward? I am not trying to influence your decision, I'm just curious.

... I did hear some "analyst" on CNBC or bloomberg say that large caps will outperform small/mid-caps in December... but it's our job to outperform the best TSP fund in December, right:)

Griffin,

I'm going to let this opportunity pass today - I'm being careful not to overpost.

Last time I checked you had the last word in 3 out of 4 active threads in the market talk section.....oh wait Ayla just posted, you better get over there and get your name back on top. :D

P.S. I do appreciate the opportunity to let Wind Hunter answer.

Griffin,

You are correct. I have done very well the past three years riding the S&I funds and will most likely continue. I just added the C fund comment for my office counterpart AKA car crazy. We have been discussing what funds would be best for a buy and hold strategy but personally I like the swing trade strategy. It's more fun too. I am in the early learning stages and opinions are well appreciated.

Wind Hunter,

I believe each person has to tailor their strategy to suit there needs, most importantly - the time you are willing to devote to it. I'm sure that many people on the MB would say that this has become a "hobby". My suggestion is to initially devote more time to it in order to learn the repitious nature of the analysis. Once you having something that works for you, scale back.

by the way who is ron white you mean (RONNIE) from your old shop , i guess he dont like deer meat, just more for me

Car Crazy,

I see your protecting that big nest egg. Me too I am protecting my little one. Ron White is a comedian from blue collar comedy. Maybe Tinker will be shut down again tomorrow and we can play in the ice and snow again.
If not see you at work on Friday.
