Whipsaw's Account Talk

Signs of life! S-Fund up 2.5%, only 13% to go! :D

I was thinking this would turn out to be a gap and trap. We'll know for sure at 12:01. Ain't that the B****. Though, it's possible things could start to improve tomorrow or even bounce today if it fills the gap. Might take a chance for a small bite of C & S. The fed just keeps digging a bigger and bigger hole though I am somewhat in favor of a stimulus for US oil companies and somewhat against it because they should always be prepared for dips. Even this much imo.

going back 5 years on the Dwcpf, the two previous times the 200 day moving average was broken, it was about to the level hit yesterday. The hype on corona virus appears to be post peak, china indicates 'epicenter' under control. Fiscal relief details should be out today... Posative outlook: Bottoming in progress. Negative: Second bear flag forming. Hope springs eternal!

The lame stream media continues to stoke the fear driving this mess. Corona 'Wuhan' Virus is a version of the common cold, not a big deal. H1N1 was much worse during the BO admin (why didn't the same market reaction happen then?). Just looking at the numbers, the flu does more damage every year. The only folks in peril are already in a bad way health-wise. This is very aggravating. At any rate, President Trump is going the right things, we'll see if cooler heads prevail and sanity returns to the markets. Super-Heavy-Duty-Mega-Ultra-Sticky Pants remain in place! I would like to play some chop though, I have 2 moves to burn!

I don’t know why I let myself see the the tail end of President Trump’s speech on CBS. It was immediately followed by journalists doing analysis and they didn’t have one positive thing to say before returning to programming. I swear they hate this country.

Therein lies the vast majority of our problems... Its a bonus flu this year, the Wuhan Flu... everyone needs to just calm down.

[h=1]How far can the Dow fall? Here are some key chart points to watch[/h]https://www.marketwatch.com/story/here-are-some-of-the-dows-key-downside-chart-points-to-watch-2020-03-11?&mod=home-page

I don't know, perhaps the target is to let the Dow fall all the way down to pre-Trump years. One thing I've noticed is that you don't hear Joe Biden claiming this is the Obama economy.

Unfortunately there are still many in Washington who are looking at this through partisan eyes.:worried:

they believe in and want the one world govt system offered by the UN Globalist. Study UN 2030 Agenda, it is the democrat agenda.

So... even though I rode this monster down to the depths, here's a thought. Assuming I just stay in equities, and they recover to previous levels over, say, 2 years... that's 50 paycheck deposits at lower levels than previous, resulting in a greater balance than before (of course, no where near having missed the drop and jumping in now); but hey, you gotta work with what you got.

Hey.. I'm right there with you.. I refused to capitulate... I was 25% in and I'm retired so.... It hurts.. I still have to decide when to add more.. Plan is to go 50% in when the coast is clear. Won't need any of this money for 2 years so hope I get back to zero sooner than later. .

kb9nvh, you got dry powder, with a good entry you'll go positive well before getting back to previous levels.

I've got a Vanguard account and some dry powder there (put some it at the 10% down level, so some work to do there).

Any thoughts on stocks to pick up on sale?

Hi Whipsaw! See Rod's Thread Post 1349 to 1353...he names lots of good stocks including Blue Apron, Amazon, Walmart, etc. I heard Walmart was doing Hang in there and keep your chin up. I am rooting for you. This market is going to roar back!!!

Blue Apron is a wildcard at this time. Unpredictable (manipulated) wild swings.

So, this is a second, maybe third, Paycheck TSP contribution at bargain prices! Wooohoooo! :-/ Maybe I should increase my contribution? It's maxed, so it would get shut off later on, I think.

To be honest, this is starting to tick me off, esp. with the jokers that are playing games on the hill.
