Whipsaw's Account Talk

??? You lost me there. Are you complaining or bragging that you entered the S Fund when it was overbought and it is still going up? Are you maybe wishing it had been more than 50%?

I was looking at the F flag at the time, but being cautious as well only going in 50%, then I see I'm only making half of what I could be! Now I have to figure if we will see the expected post holiday drop and whether or not to bail on Wednesday. But then, if it drops some, but not so much, maybe put in the other 50%... I'm basically arguing with myself! :1244:

Expected weakness, looking to deploy my other 50% before the Santa Rally... Probably not till next week. Any thoughts on a pull back target?

Happy Thanksgiving everyone! :D

Good question. Looks like investors are still buying these dips as the rotation out of bonds continues. That means our closing price finishes flat or slightly up, so we don't get to play. See how it plays out next week.

For me, this is where following the trend was the thing to do and I didn't do (congrats to those that caught the S wave) that because I expected a pullback right after the election that hasn't taken place. However, in doing some recent calcs, the Fib upside range for the SPX was up to 2209 before I was expecting a pullback or consolidation wave, perhaps up to 50 points to 2150 range or thereabouts. That may or may not be happening. This morning i would have said yes, right now I'm like WTHeck is happening. I'm hanging where I am. If the market does pullback I'll catch the dip...if not I'll take the loss and go to safety soon until the next opportunity.

Wow, its been quite some time since I have logged in to see no fresh posts for the morning. Still 50% S-Fund, 50% G... looking to deploy the rest, maybe today to be in for the 1st of December. Oil rallying will mess with the getting in price :-/

Yeah, I think it's because the forum was down due to maintenance last night. Still, postings in general seam to have dried up lately. I was wondering if all the postings are on the premium threads these days.

Throwing in the other 50%... 100% S COB

Thinking we're consolidating, in a high base, prior to the another move higher; will suffer through any weakness in Dec, likely, before the Santa Rally. :D Will have that extra trade to side step out and back in if needed.

Good luck Whipsaw. I took the opposite approach and decided to bail to safety today. With these new lifetime highs and weakness in the first half of December I am hoping to side step any consolidation and get back in at a lower price.

Hope you do well. Cougar is putting an a$$ whoopin on you so far this year...:D

I've noticed it to... not much in postings. Politics has had my goat for a time but moving back to financials...much more fun and gives a better return! :D Maybe other folks are doing the same thing. Wonder what happened to JTH. Hoping he is well.

As for premium threads, my experience is there is talk but it isn't more than what is on open forum.

Being in Premium Service (depending on which one you join) can cause folks to limit their talk on the open threads. So, it is not they talk more on the premium service threads but that they talk less on open forum so they do not accidently give out signals, express their thoughts that appear to give out signals, and get in trouble with Premium Service.

My experience was to talk much less (when I was in the Intrepid PS) as there is not a lot of strategy to discuss since the signals are given. In my opinion, it took away from my Forum experience. Welll... with exception of TSPTalkPlus that I belong to now. My strategy does not rely on Sentiment signals so I basically am free to discuss my strategies on open forum. I like that service because of the expanded newsletter but must admit I have rarely reviewed it this year. So, I need to reconsider if I sign up again for this coming year.

RF, you know I prefer that we move in the same direction... Be that as it may :suspicious: ; if we stay in this consolidation channel, with todays southerly heading in the S, I may be getting a good price after all. I've not been tracking Cougar, I'm about in the middle of the Arkers, not so hot on the AT. I am ahead of a few folks I know :cheesy: ;)

Looks like you got the better price you were looking for WS. I was hoping we would get a nice gain today as the S&P was up about 9 points when I submitted my IFT. That's what I hate about the TSP the most, having to submit an IFT by 12:00 noon Eastern time only to watch the morning gains disappear. Just seems so unfair that we are put at such a disadvantage. They will never convince me that it is impossible to change the rules so we can submit an IFT closer to market closing time and have the change made that evening...Okay that's enough of me on my soapbox.

Good luck with your investment. I'll be rooting for your success. As for Cougar, she is up 8.43% as of COB today and is leading all Arkers except the system itself...The girl is definitely rocking it this year!!!:D

Futures were well down overnight, look to be heading north and recovering nicely... maybe a good day today?

So, somebody said 'Whipsaw' on another thread and I popped in :D Not much to say, only that I'm in and had a good few days. I'm hoping the Santa Rally starts early with economic optimism of the new administration. That aside, haven't had time to do much in reading re. the markets, the suspicious side of me thinks they've been reporting like the MSM, more in an effort to manipulate than inform, FWIW, just a gut feeling. :dunno: Balmy weather in Tampa today, off to the Key's for the remainder of the week! :)

Well Whipsaw, it looks like you guessed right on this trade and now have cougar looking over her shoulder. I keep looking for an entry point, but just can't bring myself to get back in the game. Hoping the FOMC meeting will shed some light on the Santa Rally.

Hope you are enjoying your time down in balmy Southern Florida. I've been entertaining myself with burro's antics with his new pickup truck...something about a back up camera and watching girls pee...
