Whipsaw's Account Talk

Yep...I've been hit by that F train wreck one time too many! WhenI am out...I am out!!
Days like today are a good example of why I avoid the F-train... Stocks up in the morning, F is heading south, stocks go south in the afternoon, F is still heading south...

Yes...I think I read a newsfeed that said China numbers come out on Thursday!! Will be watching futures. Could be risky to jump in before then. Oh.....per the Lunar cycle ( aka..the moon madness market method), the next buy date is Oct 1.....lol........hey...if it works who is to say.... Could be better than throwing down bones!!! :D

Many indicate we will likely test the August lows (some think lower), while buying on sale seems like the thing to do, my last forey into that was premature. Though I picked up a very small part of a percentage by changing my strategy at the time, there is an opportunity for a lower entry. With all the things that FWM pointed out, and the reblogged Ciovacco video, caution is paramount.

I went in L Income today. That is typical for me to range in L funds in the lower range for fairly short periods this year. Only 25% is risk and I have one more IFT to adjust if I wish before end of month. Hadn't made an IFT since exiting on July 31st. Felt alien.

I've not foreyed into the L funds as yet. I have 1 IFT left, hopefully we will get stronger indications of a bottom soon... Still, at these levels, a partial position would put a toe hold on lower prices.

I hate it when the forey is premature...Isn't there a pill for that?

Moved in today -- in the event the bottom come as a gap down tomorrow and go stratospheric before the close...

I want every precious drop of the next rally before I head to the hills for October!

Hi ..I just wanted to clarify something about my earlier post.

While I was kidding about throwing down bones (dice), I was not at all dismissive about using the Lunar timing method. There are long-standing stats about how people’s behavior is known to be negatively impacted with higher crime/murders (“madness”) occurring around the time of the Full Moon. Then of course, we also know all about those pesky “werewolves”!! LOL…now I am kidding about the werewolves but not about aliens…believe me… I believe in those!! But only because I saw UFOs in 1971! NO I was not abducted but interesting story I will one day need to write about for those who are interested. Those living near Pensacola should beware!!

I have not back tested the Lunar method (and there are quite a few different methods out there), but I am always interested in looking at different methods of timing the market. I prefer technical indicators, sentiment, seasonality, and anything that might give an edge, etc. Heck I even like that Millionaires timing method that I posted about long-long ago that came from another site.

I think the Lunar method could have some impact only because we know with certainty that tides are affected by the gravitational pull of the moon (and the Sun). If it can impact tides, I reason that it can impact people since we are primarily big bags of water! Plus I have read that emergency rooms experience a lot more traffic around the full moon. So maybe there is something to this. I do believe Tsunami had a link to a site that addresses lunar timing methods, which I think is of value and I plan on reviewing that methodology in more detail very soon.

For now, still sticking to staying out of market until I see my strategy indicators hit... looks like it could be in a few days... hummm... and it just might coincide with the buy period under a Lunar timing method.

Best Wishes to Everyone on Your Investments!!!!!!!!!!

P.S. So maybe we will soon get a "moon madness" sale on stocks!! Woo hoo!!
P.S.S. Don't rely on that 10/1 date... I need to look at that methodology again... might be off a few days.

DBA! I was living in Pensacola (Perdido Key...) in 1987/88, there were reports of UFO sightings at the time; unfortunately I didn't see any, but I was on the lookout! The term "Lunatic" is rooted in everything you said above. TSPIntel, he has the little green man avatar, would always post the phases of the moon WRT trading TSP, though he's not posted in a while. Anything that can give us an edge! Like Josey Wales going into a fight with the sun at his back!
